Recently, the shopping area of Old Port Royale at Disney’s Carribbean Beach Resort has become overrun with pirates. The overlay is to promote the the upcoming film Pirates of the Carribbean – Dead Mans Chest.
The overlay includes many skeleton/corpse pirates throughout the shopping area, even on the second floor over the dining area, and lots of pirate related merchandise.
Also being offered is a new children’s Pirate Adventure Cruise at Carribbean Beach Resort. A sign in the plaza provides basic details:
“Land lubbers from the ages of 4-10 can interact and hear the legend of treasures that have been hidden on one of the islands here in the Carribbean Waters.
The adventure departs the Barefoot Bay Marina on Tuesdays at 9:30 AM and returns at 11:30 AM with a light lunch provided.
The price of the adventure is $30.00 (tax included). Call Barefoot Bay Marina at Extension 2850 for a reservation. ”
Wether this offering is temporary or a permanent expansion to accomodate the need for such adventures like the very popular Pirate Cruise around Seven Seas Lagoon and the Albatross Cruise through Crescent lake is currently unknown.
