More details are emerging about Spaceship Earth’s refurbishment. First, the audio details are being revealed to note that Dame Judi Dench will be narrating, giving the ride its first female narrator. Also, the the new score by Bruce Broughton will feature period instruments for certain scenes, a 63-piece orchestra, and 24-member choir to create more then 20 minutes of new music for the attraction from the queue to unload. The music is said to be completely new without any recycled themes from the past versions.
Outside, more finished signs are popping up, and work is said to be ending on the interior. To date, Cast Members report that test-and-adjust has not yet occurred (a period where they make sure the ride system perform properly), but there has been a buzz that soft-opening and previews may begin as early as mid-December.
