We’ve noticed a couple of instances of the Diamond Horseshoe showing up as an available sit-down restaurant in the Magic Kingdom, probably related to the upcoming free dining promotion. Disney is describing the food as “Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom theme park serves American classics in an all-you-care-to-eat, Western-themed restaurant located in Frontierland. Savory entrees like carved beef and smoked pork loin are paired with tasty sides like herb bread stuffing.” with prices from $15-$36 per person.

  • I noticed this 2 weeks ago and booked it. I am excited to find out if there will be a show or just a meal in this pretty room. I am expecting the latter but would love a surprise. I have been shocked that there is not more information about it.

  • Reminder that this is only a seasonal addition, open from August 16 to October 3, 2009, according to disney.com.

  • Yes, almost certainly due to free dining. I’m assuming Liberty Tree’s kitchen is doing the cooking.

  • I saw this during the week of Christmas. Basically, it’s an overflow area from Liberty Tree Tavern. They share the same kitchen and menu. I spoke with the chef who told me there were discussions to make it into a separate restaurant and that he hoped to see some kind of entertainment return.

Last time I was there the setting looked more like a wedding reception than a restaurant. Round tables stuffed into the main floor of Diamond Horseshoe. Barely enough room to walk between tables. They had a sign out in Frontierland notifying Guests that it’s opened for dinner.

I have a pic of the dining room that I can email to you.

  • I just saw it today when making some reservation changes so I can change the park I was planning to attend for the day without having to hop around to have meals. I was excited about it especially since nothing else was available and we are arriving in Disney in 2 days.
