New Disney World Summer Discount May Be Available Today
Rumor has it a new summer discount may be available today. The discount is supposed to be a “kids stay and play free” deal, which will provide free park admission for kids. (The “kids stay free” text is a bit of a misnomer, since one adult has to be assigned to each room anyway and the maximum number of guests per room is set by fire code regulations.) Check-in and booking dates are supposed to be through August 14 (that is, you can book until August 14 for check-in dates through August 14.) No word yet on the maximum number of kids per adult.
We don’t think this particular discount will have the widespread benefit of the other current discount, but your situation may find it to be valuable. If you come up with a scenario where this discount is better than anything else, please post the details in this post’s comments.
Next discount is rumored to be tiered free dining, for travel dates August through October. (Presumably it’ll start August 15, when the current discounts end.) We hear the offer may be significantly different than in years past, however, with a smaller discount. It’s total speculation at this point, and we haven’t heard anything definitive. If anyone has more information, drop us a line.

Got an email this morning. Minimum 4 night/5 day package, dates are May 2 through June 3rd. Good luck for anyone who can use it!
The dates for this deal are very brief. Also, I wonder how many new bookings this will actually generate, since the travel dates don’t give people that much trip preparation time.
I have travel clients itching for a late August Disney promotion! Sandra
This is listed on Mousesavers as a discount. Disney Visa cardmembers can get a discount that includes free dining for kids as well for a longer time period.
My family can’t benefit from these deals because my ‘kids’ are Disney “adults” (11 and 14)…AP discounts still seem to give us the best value (if anything Disney is EVER a value)! We just got back from a 6 night stay in a Villa where we ate no TS meals and only 3 CS meals the whole trip! Daughter ate more than just chicken nuggets and mac cheese!
Thanks folks!
Disney had a banner up on my aol homepage this morning with this offer, so it looks like it has gone public in a big way. I think it’s kind-of like a teaser or a hook to get you to think about how you can afford a trip to the world. Once you start to do the research then you find better ways of getting there.
We are using the Disney Visa deal. We have three kids, 6,5,and 2. It saved us over $500. We go every November, but because of this deal we are going in May. I’m pretty excited that we get to go again so soon. This will be our first trip in May and part of our stay will be during the star wars weekend. Any tips would be great.
We weren’t going last year, but free dining in November convinced us to pull the trigger. It’ll take free dining or a similar type of promotion that knocks our socks off to get us back this year.
I just priced this out and the “kids free” discount was $400 cheaper for a complete package (6 nights, 7-day w/hopper) for 2A & 3K (but youngest is under 2) than using the current room discount deal.
