I was surprised to hear the podcast crew tout the Plaza as a good dining value in the Magic Kingdom. In my opinion it’s not a good value at all.
The Plaza is basically a sandwich shop; their “entrees” are a salad, a burger and 7 types of sandwiches. All of these are priced at no less than $10.49, and the salad goes $12.99. Whereas the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger at the Plaza costs $11.99, the Angus Cheeseburger at Pecos Bills costs $9.09 (and you get the famous Pecos Bills Fixins Bar).
Essentially you’re paying a Table Service surcharge to eat a Counter Service meal if you’re eating at the Plaza. And the value’s even worse if you’re on the DDP, since you’re giving up a TS credit for what’s essentially a CS meal. Either way, not a great value, IMHO.
I do agree with the crew that there are better TS choices on the monorail line, and Kona is one of our favorites. But let’s keep it a secret.
