If you’re anything like the team here at TouringPlans.com, you’re a huge Disney fan.  Even if you don’t want to admit it, if you are reading this blog–one that’s focused on the Disney parks–you are probably a big fan. As a big fan, you may know that this year, on October 1st, Walt Disney World celebrates its 40th Anniversary.

We wanted to do something special to celebrate the Florida Project’s 40 years in operation.  Some initial ideas included replacing Len’s desk chair with a ride vehicle from Horizons, re-numbering the crowd calendar to a scale of 40, and giving each subscriber a pressed penny from the Magic Kingdom’s opening in 1971.  All of these ideas died quickly in the Blue Sky stage, as all had fatal logistical or feasibility flaws (the Horizons vehicle far, far exceeded our chair budget, a scale of 40 is confusing, and we only have 7 pressed pennies from 1971).

Instead, we decided to honor the Walt Disney World Resort’s 40th Anniversary with a hat tip to its opening date–1971–in the pricing of a new product we’re offering: a two year Premium Subscription to TouringPlans.com.  Unlike Disney itself, we’re not offering a 40th Anniversary subscription that actually costs more than our other products and is given some shiny “Limited Edition” tag in a feeble attempt to justify the added cost.  Rather, as a special discount, we are offering the two-year subscription at a total price of only $19.71!

This is just the start of our plans to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Walt Disney World.  Stay tuned to the TouringPlans.com Blog for future announcements!

  • Our first trip to Disney was during October 1986 (the 15th Anniversary), so we are headed down in October to commemorate our 25th anniverary of visiting WDW. I would have liked to see the Horizons ride vehicle as a chair, but the subscription discount is a great idea since your info is invaluable. I will say I can’t plan a trip to WDW without your Crowd Calendar since discovering it – thank you for having such great info for us!

  • Interesting.

  • Question: I can renew for one year right now with my UG discount @ $7.16, but renewing for 2 years is actually more expensive? I didn’t see an option to put in my UG discount with the two year option.

  • This is really fascinating, You’re an excessively skilled blogger. I have joined your feed and sit up for in quest of more of your great post. Additionally, I’ve shared your site in my social networks
