Hall of Presidents Meet!

If you’ve been reading the TouringPlans blog for a while you may remember one of my favorite attractions is one most
people view as a place to take a nap. The Hall of Presidents in the Magic Kingdom holds a special place in my heart since I spent a full school year researching and writing about it and the Epcot’s American Adventure for my senior thesis in college. Although the attraction has changed since then, I still have fond affection for it.
I’d love to share this experience with readers and the opportunity presented itself during my upcoming trip. I’ll be heading to Walt Disney World for a few days of fun on land before boarding the Dream for four nights of Disney Cruise Line excitement. This also happens to fall during the week of Presidents’ Day so it is perfect timing to hold a meet featuring the Hall of Presidents!
The TouringPlans team (look for our super awesome shirts) will meet with readers on February 25th at 4pm under the Liberty Tree. Not sure where to find the Liberty Tree? It’s just across the way from the Hall of Presidents. You can’t miss the huge tree with 13 lanterns hanging in its branches. You guessed it; a lantern for each of the original thirteen colonies! We’ll hang out here for a while and wait for people arrive before heading inside to watch the show.
We’re sure to have a great time at our gathering so I hope to see as many of you there as possible! Bring your tissues because I cry every time and you just might too!
Be sure to check out the event on plancast!
Next week I’ll talk more about my upcoming trip to WDW and my adventure on the Disney Dream!

Oh how I wish I could attend. The Hall of Presidents is one of my top two favorite places to visit during my time in WDW (CoP is the other). Even with the addition of the new President I still love the attraction!
We wish you could attend too! I really love the new show. Thanks for reading!
I wish I could be there too..but looking forward to your blog as always..especially intersted in the Dream! Heading out on it in October…
We wish you could be there too! Thanks so much for reading! I’ll be sure to report back all sorts of things from the upcoming trip especially details on my first cruise.
So – will you publish your thesis for us to read? I want to know your conclusion at least!
I doubt I’ll publish it, but can tell you I my conclusion. Although Disney presents a nice, simple version of our history I think its ok in the setting of a theme park. There is a time and place for everything and sophisticated debate on complicated events in our past should not be expected in a theme park attraction. I admire Disney for highlighting great moments and hopefully encouraging people to learn more about them. That’s the gist of it anyway. Thanks for the interest!
A meet that I can actually attend?!? Sweet!!!
Awesome! Looking forward to seeing you there!
I’m so THERE!!! I’m flying in from South Korea for the Princess half. We only have 5 days and the 25th just happens to be our MK day. Meant to be?? Fo sho!
Maybe…
I wish I could be there. I have a 6 year old who is fascinated with the Presidents, but was a little too young when we last visited. He would LOVE the Hall of Presidents now.
I never understood why people (Americans especially) view it as a place to nap. I’m moved each and very time I see it.
We’ll be there!
Looking forward to it…
