Significant Park Schedule Changes To Walt Disney World In March

We have received an update to the park schedules for March and have made adjustments to the Crowd Calendar that reflect those changes. For every park except Epcot, park hours have been extended at least one day in March. At the Animal Kingdom half of the days in March have been extended. Performances of Fantasmic! and nighttime parades at the Magic Kingdom have been added.

Make sure to check your dates for changes to the schedule.

What does this mean for the Crowd Calendar?

We would love to say that the Crowd Calendar is a crystal ball that speaks to us in our sleep but for now that is not the case. The calendar predicts wait times based on all the information that we have available to us. When that information changes, so do the estimates. The extension of park schedules is a distinct sign that Disney hotel bookings are up and crowds are likely to be higher than expected.

As always, the single number one best defense against any crowd is to use a touring plan. Find one that works for your travelling party, beat the crowds and have fun!

  • Personally, I know of 20 families going to WDW for the 2nd week of March, which is Mardi Gras week for us in Louisiana. For the first time, the Baton Rouge Catholic schools are getting a whole week for Mardi Gras vacation. I was really looking forward to lower crowd levels, but, with the higher anticipated levels, thank goodness for touring plans! Look for the Louisiana crowd with Mardi Gras beads. Yell, “Throw me something, mister” and you just might get some for yourself!

  • I love the site, Lines, and have always trusted your data. However, we have been the third week of March the last two years. The crowds have been very manageable and were predicted to be so this year, maybe slightly up.

The new estimates are at Christmas levels. Four 10’s for the week with AK at 8.1+ all week. Hopefully, this weekend will yield some hard data on current touring conditions with similar hours.
