Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 3-Month 2012 Refurbishment
The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction at Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment January 9 to March 31, 2012. Cast Members at the attraction have reported that the lengthy closure will allow for replacement of one of the ride’s lift hills, as well as cosmetic and special effects repairs.
Good news for those who visit in the off-season: it is said that this refurbishment will replace the Splash Mountain closure that usually occurs in January.
