Disney confirmed that at approximately 9:30am on Sunday, October 9, 2011, a power outage and fire forced the closure of the Astro Orbiter in the Magic Kingdom. There were no injuries and reportedly no guests on the attraction at the time. The surrounding attractions in Tomorrowland were evacuated as a precaution.
