Correction To The Crowd Calendar

Like a classic Disney runaway train, the Crowd Calendar occasionally falls off the tracks. Our update on Tuesday, October 18, included some incorrect park hours and schedules, which sent some of our crowd estimates uncharacteristically high. Many of you caught this and let us know, which we certainly appreciate.

We believe the dust has settled and that our calendar is back to normal. If you received notice that the calendar had changed for your dates, please come back to check your dates. You should now see correct estimates. Those estimates may be different from what was there a week ago because recent park hour changes did affect our crowd estimates for some dates.

Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for the confusion.

  • Thanks for this info! I was attempting to rearrange our plans and now I don’t have to.

  • When should the number be update 10-21-11? Is jeresy week really this busy. I should have booked a week later.

    • The information on the crowd calendar now is correct, so what you see is what is being predicted. I suspect that Jersey Week, Veterans Day (11/11/2011), and the last weekend of Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival are combining to make for a busy weekend. Plus, there are a lot of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties that week, and that tends to make Magic Kingdom more popular on non-party days (hence the 19 hours of park operation on 11/12/2011).

  • Thanks for the update. I logged on and saw that Nov 11–19 some of the dates went up big time. Like a 10 on 11/12??!! Wow…I do hope you are off on that one 🙂

    • Susan, you should expect the Magic Kingdom to be quite busy. The hours were changed to 8:00 am to 3:00 am with EMH meaning the day is as long as Holiday hours.

      • Oh…I avoid any park with extra hours! I was planning on doing HS that day to see as many sit down shows as possible (hard to do when they schedule them at the same time). If the 10 is just referring to the MK then I’m all set. 🙂

      • The Studios is scheduled for morning Extra Magic Hours on 11/12/2011. If you arrive before opening and have a touring plan, you should be fine: a touring plan matters a lot more than the park you choose. Also, if your plan is to do shows, you’re unlikely to have problems; they tend to have high capacities and relatively short waits.

      • Thanks David. We arrive to WDW the day prior and will have to get up at 3am to catch our flight. So we plan to sleep in and try to make it over to HS by 10:30 am on Saturday. I know about the EMH and that’s why we are just trying to hit the shows instead of the rides. We want to see LMA on that day and then do the other shows around it. For us it’s not a day of “we have to see everything” since we are at WDW for 9 days. BTW…the tourings plans do work!
