This week’s update is a short one. We take a look at Princess Fantasy Faire and Earl of Sandwich construction.

A crane appeared on the site of the future Princess Fantasy Faire. Construction crews were seen working throughout the week.

Very little progress seen at the future site of Earl of Sandwich. A temporary work wall has gone up around the news stand as it prepares for removal.

The current location of the Princess Fantasy Faire is scheduled to close on Monday, August 14. The princess meet and greet will then move to a temporary location in front of it’s a small world. No opening date has been set for opening of the temporary meet and greet.

This week’s vintage Disneyland picture is of the extinct attraction Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland. This attraction was a slow paced mine cart ride through several different show scenes and dozens of animatronic animals. The scene in the picture above is of one of the trains as it traveled past Cascade Peak, located just off to the side of the Rivers of America. The attraction was removed in 1979 to make way for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

A bonus vintage Disneyland picture! Walt inspects the Jungle Cruise before its opening in 1955.
