Disney Floral and Gifts

I had heard about Disney Floral and Gifts a few times over the years, but didn’t have an opportunity to use their services until last month. What is Disney Floral, you ask? Well, it is allows folks to send arrangements, gift baskets, and other goodies for any occasion. These special deliveries can be made all over Disney property for a fee. If you are sending something to a Disney Resort they can usually set it a guest’s room if they are not present when the delivery is made so they are surprised when they arrive from the airport or come back from a long day in the parks.

I decided to give this service a try for the first time when two of my friends got engaged during their trip to Disney World in August. I wanted to send them a little something to say congratulations and this seemed like my best option.  Since they were celebrating an engagement I really wanted to send a bottle of champagne and a little something with Disney flair to go along with it. As you might imagine these friends are also big Disney fans so it was definitely appropriate to send something with a Mickey theme for their special occasion.

I did a quick search online and found the phone number listed as (407) WDW-GIFT and gave them a call. I spoke to the very friendly woman who answered. She pointed me toward their website which displayed all of their gift options. I told her I’d have a look and call back so I wouldn’t keep her on the phone which I’m sure she appreciated. So if you would like to send a loved one a gift in their room I’d suggest going to disneyflorist.com first to pick it out. They have all sorts of ways of gifts to celebrate everything from birthdays, to first trips to Disney World, to graduations and weddings. As I said I was looking for something appropriate for an engagement so I settled on a bottle of champagne with some other sweet treats. If you were unsure about the selection online or wanted to customize your order, I’m sure someone would be happy to help if you called.

It didn’t take me long to make my selection so I called back only about 10 minutes later. I was able to find a bottle of champagne along with some sweet treats, champagne glasses, and a picture of Mickey and Minnie offering their congratulations. I thought this option was perfect for my friends so I called back and got started on ordering it. The process couldn’t have been simpler! During the second phone call I gave the floral cast member all my billing information along with where my friends were staying and we were on our way. I let her know which basket I had picked and she asked me a few questions in order to get everything just right. I was also able to send a personalized message along with the gift which she was happy to pass on to the happy couple. After a few minutes on the phone, I was all set and I just waited to here they had received their present! Keep in mind, you may also skip the phone call and order most of their products online. Since it was my first experience with Disney Floral and I wasn’t sure how it all worked I opted to talk to someone in person.

Later that day the basket was delivered to their resort, but they had to receive it in person since there was alcohol involved. Since they weren’t in their room when they tried to deliver it a message was left for them that they had a package at the desk for them to pick up. Soon enough I heard they had gotten it and I was glad that everything went off without a hitch!

This service isn’t the cheapest, but I thought they did a great job. The people I spoke to were very friendly and helpful both times I called. My friends received their gift in a very timely fashion and they enjoyed their goodies. There are all kinds of gift options from flowers to chocolates to plush toys so you’ll be sure to find something to suit anyone who’s trip you’d like to enhance. I hope if you try Disney’s Floral department you have as great a success as I did!

  • Just be aware you cannot order via their website. You have to choose a date for delivery and I tried Chrome, IE and Safari and none of them popped up a way to pick a delivery date. Additionally? ALL the email links for customer service do not work! Yep, good ole DW customer service. I guess that way they can upsale you when you call??

  • Great post! I had my wedding and honeymoon at Disney World and was the grateful recipient of a few gifts, all of which were lovely! On our wedding night, my bridesmaids surprised us with a basket champagne basket pictured above, which included chocolates, glasses and a signed photo with mat with congratulatory messages from Mickey and Minnie. Rose petals were left like a trail or pixie dust from our resort door to the bed, and a heart shaped set of petals adorned the bed. It was gorgeous and very sweet! We had no idea it was coming, so it was a great surprise when we opened the door! Another set of friends sent us a sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries which magically appeared in our room shortly after we checked in for our honeymoon! Another wonderful and unexpected surprise! Disney Floral definitely does a nice job with these gifts!

  • I’ve used the Disney Florist several times and have always been so impressed with the gifts :)On our honeymoon last year, my husband asked at the concierge desk if they could help him plan a surprise for me – they put him in contact with the Florist…and the next day the gift basket Kristen described above was delivered to our room! (So these gifts can be arranged during a trip too).
Disney Cruise Line also offers a similar service for in-room gifts and celebrations 🙂

  • How would this work if you are staying at Fort Wilderness? They obviously couldn’t get into your RV to leave the package. Would you need to pick it up yourself? If so, where would you go?

  • Disney Floral and Gifts created a wonderful anniversary basket for my wife. Everything was done by phone and the Cast Member helping was very helpful. The basket was delivered to POFQ, but could not be dropped off in my room because an adult had to be present to accept the sparkling wine which was part of the gift basket. I was able to surprise my wife by having a Cast Member at the front desk deliver the basket to my room.

  • I bought the With Love from Mickey and Minnie package for our engagement trip in May 2011. It was fantastic, and I can give a few more details. If you want a package that will not be in your room when you arrive (I was proposing on the first day, which was supposed to be a surprise, so I wanted the in-room decorations set up after we arrived while we were at the park), they will ask you for a window of time during which you won’t be in the room, and set up the decorations during that time. Which was interesting for me, because after I proposed and we had dinner at Les Chefs de France, my now-wife discovered that the onions in the French onion soup made her sick, and wanted to go back to the room. I had to drag her on Spaceship Earth to give the florist time to do its work!

But when we returned, the window shades had been drawn and the room was lit by electronic candles, flower petals had been arranged on the bed in a heart shape, and it was lovely. The service was great.

  • Enjoyed your write up Kristen. I’ve used this service to surprise my wife a few times and she’s really loved it. The disney florist folks seem to go the extra mile with any requests you may have. However, I have to agree that you definitely pay a few extra pennies but for that quintessential Disney experience, I think it’s worth it.

  • I did the mega birthday celebration for my daughter last year. It was pretty nice; however it did cost almost $400. She did think that Mickey and friends really came to our room while we were gone. The decorations were nice quality. The downside is that she’s hoping they will make a return visit when we are there in November. I’m half thinking I would reuse the banners from last yeat and decorate the room on my own. 🙂

    • I had this same problem with my daughter. “Mickey and Minnie” still visit each time we go, but now they just leave her a gift bag of great Disney gifts that I usually purchased at home if I’m prepared or in the resort gift shop if I’m not. She is pretty satisfied with the idea that the room was only decorated because it was her first visit, but “Mickey and Minnie” are glad she came again so they left her a gift and a welcome back card. Once Tinker Bell delivered it to help out Mickey and Minnie. There was a trail of pixie dust that lead to the package. She really liked that a lot.

  • Four years ago I got my son the WElcome Package. They came and decorated our room while we were out to make it look like Mickey had come! He got a big box of gifts, including an autograph book already signed by Mickey, a personalized blanket, a huge stuffed Mickey, and a cookie-pop bouquet. Plus, Mickey footprints on the floor and pixie dust everywhere. It was amazing! The only sad part is that the cost has increased dramatically for the same thing when I checked for our trip this year. It’s definitely expensive…

  • On our first trip together to Disney, my boyfriend surprised me with flowers, towels embroidered with our names on them, a bath set, and chocolates in our resort room after seeing Wishes one night. They also put flower petals on the floor and bed and had those electronic candles lit when we got there. It was perfect. I was not only surprised that my guy thought of this but everything was of great quality and it looked like the person who decorated the room put a lot of thought into it. I would definitely recommend using the service!

  • And as the recipient of this wonderful basket… Might I add a big THANK YOU! to Kristen for making our celebration even sweeter (corny Hallmark moment there). 😉
