This week I’ll be taking a look at the rest of Disneyland’s Halloween offerings I didn’t get to last week. As well as some construction around the resort.
The Dia De Los Muertos decorations are up again inside the Zocalo Park area of Frontierland.
The area features some beautiful decorations, photo ops, and face painting.
One last picture of Zocalo Park.
Big Thunder Ranch has also received its yearly Halloween overlay. The Scare-Dy-Crow Shack is where you can meet Woodie and Jessie from Toy Story.
The former Festival Arena (used for private event and occasional temporary attractions) has been transformed in to the “Halloween Carnival at the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree.”
The area features Billy Hill and the Haunted Hillbillies, Conjure a Villain (a Disney Villains meet and greet), and Mickey’s MASKarade.
Billie Hill and the Hillbillies usually put on a great show, their Halloween-themed show is also very entertaining.
Conjure a Villain is a carnival tent where you can meet the Disney Villains. Note that this is open during regular park hours and Mickey’s Halloween Party.
These are just some of the villains you can meet inside. Also included is the evil queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The Halloween Carnival also features arts and crafts. It also important to note that this is the only area of the park where you will be able to take pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy with their Halloween costumes on.
The big draw of this area is the yearly pumpkin carving display.
The talented carvers do a great job and create some amazing pumpkins.
As with previous years the carvers are creating new pumpkins every day. Be sure to check back every week until Halloween to see what they come up with.
There is also a food cart in the area selling “Corn on the Cobb Web” and hot dogs. The only Halloween-themed food offering here is the candy corn-colored cotton candy.
As I mentioned last week, Haunted Mansion Holiday has reopened. This year Disney is not distributing Fastpass for the attraction. This is a good thing as lines move much faster without it.
The area formally used for Haunted Mansion Holiday Fastpass distribution is now being used as a Jack Skellington and Sally meet and greet. Here I am meeting Jack. The line to meet Sally and Jack is very popular and lines can grow quickly. If you wish to see them be sure to do it as early in the day as possible.
One of the new items added to Haunted Mansion Holiday this year is the Sparky tombstone in the pet cemetery located near the front of the mansion. Sparky is the dog from the movie Frankenweenie directed by Tim Burton.
The only other major change to Haunted Mansion Holiday this year is the ginger bread house. Disney goes all out for the gingerbread house display and this year they have really outdone themselves. The house is very tall and full of little details.
Over on Main Street USA, the Dapper Dans are dressed in their fall colors.
Construction continues on the Fantasy Faire.
Slowly but surely progress is being made on Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. The green tarp you see on the right is covering construction of the outdoor seating area!
That’s all for this week!
