Santa Mater welcomes you to this week’s Disneyland update. I was in Walt Disney World all last week so please allow me to play catch up with this post.

The Buena Vista Street Community Bell Ringers are now performing holiday songs multiple times a day on Buena Vista Street.

Prep & Landing: Naughty Vs Nice has replaced Muppet Vision 3D for the holiday season. The 25 minute movie starts every half hour from park opening to close.

For some strange reason the old spin handles have been added back to Luigi’s Flying Tires. To give you some background on these handles, during cast member previews these handles were present on the vehicle to control the spin. The problem was the spin mechanics didn’t work as planned so they were removed before the official opening. The handle you see in the picture was absent from the ride vehicles since opening. Last week they re-appeared, but are inoperable.

The right side of the Disney California Adventure entrance has been completed and it’s construction walls have been removed.

Another look at the completed DCA entrance.

Disney Imagineering held a playtest for a new show called “Imagine That” in DCA on Wednesday and Thursday. The show was made up of artist and improv actors creating scenes using suggestions from the audience. Disney regularly uses playtests to work on show and attraction ideas.

Candlelight Processional has begun its 20 nights of performances over in Disneyland.

Another look at the Candlelight Processional setup. The seating area is added around 5 PM after most of town square is closed off. Traffic from that point on gets very congested so it’s best to avoid Main Street if possible.

 Construction continues at Fantasy Faire.

Deconstruction continues over at the old Princess Fantasy Faire. The archway is being removed.

That’s it for this week!
