Starbucks on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom officially opens later this week, but this weekend it has been in previews. We now know more information about what you can expect when you step foot inside this new version of the Main Street Bakery.

First off, on first initial glance, you can’t tell it’s a Starbucks location. However, almost all of the food options, as well as beverage choices, are all Starbucks. (Merchandise is distinctly Starbucks, as well.) We are hearing that in the afternoon some additional Disney offerings may be sold, like cupcakes and other sweets.

Most items will be available for a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan. In addition, those on the Dining Plan may use a quick service entitlement for either one entree and one beverage OR one beverage, one piece of fruit, and one pastry. This does appear to be a full blown Starbucks, for the most part, menu-wise, with the pastries and sandwiches that Starbucks specializes in.

Unfortunately, the bad news is that the famous cinnamon roll didn’t make the cut. However, they are still available at Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland.

There is also no indoor seating any longer. This was done to make the bakery bigger to accommodate larger crowds.

This is a Disney-run location. (As someone who has previously worked in a licensed Starbucks location, from the sound of it this is a licensed store.) The employees are all Disney Cast Members. The location will accept your Starbucks cards; however, it will not be able to access your rewards. You will still earn your stars.

For a review of the location, check out AJ at the Disney Food Blog.

One thing is for sure, for those who love a good cup of coffee in the morning, it seems like the Main Street Bakery will be the place to go to get it.

  • From my experience at the Starbucks in DCA, they do accept the Starbucks card including the phone app (even before they had the scanners, but they had to enter the number manually then, but now they can just scan it like at Starbucks), and it is accepted for all items sold at the Starbucks.

  • Great info! I am glad to hear that they will accept Starbucks gift cards. Will I be able to use a Starbucks gift card on non-Starbucks items (i.e. that fantastic looking peanut butter cupcake)?

    • That I am not sure about, however, if I had to take an educated guess, I would say not since it is not an official Starbucks product. Just a guess though. Although according the poster below me, they can at DCA. Which certainly sells other options besides Starbucks goodies. So, I guess we’ll have to see. 🙂

  • “The location will accept your Starbucks cards; however, it will not be able to access your rewards. You will still earn your stars.” Does this mean I can pay using the Starbuck’s app on my phone as well?

    • You will be able to pay using your Starbucks app. At my previously licensed store I worked at, we had to type the numbers in, but Disney may be able to just scan it.

  • And if they sell Via, Len can refresh his supply without leaving property. 😉

  • Does this store have any Disney/Starbucks Mugs or the like?

    • As of right now, the merchandise I know they are selling is coffee pounds. Not sure if they will be adding mugs or tumblers.

  • AJ’s blog has sparked a pretty lively discussion, primarily from people when are concerned that this goes against the spirit of Main Street. I for one will miss the old place.
