Rumors have been flying for months (years, even!) that Disney Vacation Club would be coming to Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Disney has even been doing some of the groundwork recently for the project, but as of today, it’s official. The next DVC resort will be The Poly.

One of the first Walt Disney World Resorts will become the last on the monorail line to get the timeshare program. Construction is expected to be complete sometime in 2015.

In addition to building Disney Vacation Club rooms, the resort will also see refurbishments to other guest areas; however, no extra details were given as to what would be seeing upgrades.

The Polynesian will become the 13th DVC property. The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will open officially on October 23, 2013.

  • Allright! I thought I would never get to stay there. But now… YIPEEE!

  • Hi Lynn , Thaiti, .and Rapa Nui are to be converted to DVC. You can all the New,s at tikimanpages.com IT,s all about the poly

  • Is DVC really worth the money? With what it costs to buy plus the yearly fees I just don’t see it working out for our family. Is it something that’s only worth it if you take more than one vacation a year? My 5 year old has Autism and ever since our trip to Disney this year he keeps talking about going to the Polynesian (we stayed at POR). He talks about it every day and if it worked out for us financially we could stay there all of the time with DVC. 🙂

  • I can’t wait to add on to our points!!

  • I’m curious as to where they are planning on building. Any ideas?

  • Can’t decide whether I like this or not. One of the great things about the Poly is how tranquil it can be. Hope this doesn’t ruin that.

Somehow I doubt they’ll upgrade or add more monorail trains to handle all the extra people from this and the Grand Floridian DVC.
