A Few Details About The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

While another piece of the New Fantasyland expansion opened up just yesterday with Princess Fairytale Hall (see here for full details), perhaps the part that is most exciting is the all new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Details have been scarce lately, but as we are now getting closer to the attraction’s official opening, more details should start leaking out here and there. And I’ve got a few of them for you.

For those who are unaware, this new family-style coaster is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2014 (keep in mind that there is currently no official exact opening date) and will take guests on a musical ride into the mine, as well as through the countryside that happens to surround the mine.

The attraction features ride vehicles mounted in cradle-like pivots, allowing the cars to swing independently back and forth during the ride. This is the first time this has been done. Two guests will be able to sit side by side, allowing four people per car. Guests who are traveling in wheelchairs will need to transfer – each coach will have a transfer-accessible coach.

The journey will include music from the film, as well as animated figures of Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs, and forest critter friends. This ride will be different than Snow White’s Scary Adventure because you are going into the Dwarfs’ world, and the story line will be from their perspective. There will be cameos by other characters, though. Another unique aspect of the attraction is that there will be both indoor and outdoor portions, with the interior section featuring classic Disney dark ride scenes.

In addition, an interactive queue will feature mining-related activities for guests to enjoy. The attraction will have a height requirement of 38 inches.

This is shaping up to be an exciting new addition to the park, and I personally cannot wait to see it when it’s finished.
