Mickey Mouse has been meeting with guests at his new home on Main Street, U.S.A. at the Town Square Theater for about a year and a half now. Up until this point, he’s been a little mute; however, in November 2011 Disney tested some technology that would allow Mickey to carry on a conversation with guests. Now, guests who wish to meet the Big Cheese will have the opportunity to meet AND talk with Mickey on a daily basis! (No more miming here!)

Mickey can carry on conversations, blink, say cheese for the camera, and even perform magic tricks with guests. Mickey looks dapper in his new magician’s outfit, too!

Here’s a video released by the Disney Parks Blog that showcases some of the fun that’s in store the next time you meet the Main Mouse.

It seems right now that a lot of what Mickey says is pre-programmed, but I suspect that will change in the future. As far as we know, all other talking fur characters are staying mute for now.

Talking Mickey is meeting with guests daily only in Magic Kingdom. Make sure to pick up a Times Guide for more information! This attraction does offer FASTPASS/FastPass+.
