If you’ll be in Walt Disney World this Friday, August 19, you’ll be able to take part in an event promoting Disney PhotoPass. Disney PhotoPass Day will promote making memories. (Making memories. Taking pictures is making memories.)

Both Walt Disney World and Disneyland will be taking part in this event which will feature exciting offerings and experiences for Guests to enjoy.

At both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, you’ll be able to take part in special character meet and greet experiences. Meet Pinocchio, Gideon, and Foulfellow in Storybook Circus in New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. At Epcot, you’ll find the Queen of Hearts who will join Alice in the United Kingdom Pavilion, Dopey will join Snow White in the Germany Pavilion, and Mushu will meet with Mulan at the China Pavilion.

In addition, at one select location throughout each of the four theme parks and at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World and at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort, Guests will be able to receive a complimentary photo that will be available to download at no charge as part of the #DisneyPhotoPassDay celebration. Guests will find these photos in their My Disney Experience app at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland app at the Disneyland Resort. Participating locations include:

Walt Disney World

  • Magic Kingdom: The Purple Wall in Tomorrowland and the right side fountain at Cinderella Castle
  • Epcot: Under Spaceship Earth

It seems as though Disney is doing a lot to promote its Disney PhotoPass service lately. On a recent trip, my husband and I were stopped at the front gates of the Magic Kingdom and were offered a free 5×7 if we got out photo taken and took the free photo certificate to the Disney PhotoPass Sales Center found on Main Street.

If you’ll be in the parks on Friday, this seems like it will be a fun day, especially for those who love photos and Disney PhotoPass.

  • If they really want to promote it at DLR, they should not force patrons to pay for each day separately. They should have a length of stay option as at WDW.

  • It sounds like there won’t be any special character meet and greets in Disneyland, right? I already get free photopass photos with my AP, so I think I will skip this.

  • Thank you for all the information! I plan to go tomorrow and didn’t know where to start!

We’re thinking of going to MK first. Then over to EPCOT – not looking forward to the character wait lines…. yet….. it’s all a part of Disney picture character hunting!

  • And we’re the 21st. Too bad this is not a week-long event.

  • We arrive on the 20th. 🙁
