This one hurts just a little. According to reports, Starring Rolls Cafe located on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is now closed.

Starring Rolls was a fan favorite, serving up fresh-baked goods and pastries. They were known for their incredible cupcake creations, such as the Butterfinger Cupcake and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake.  Starring Rolls also offered unique to theme park lunch options, including fresh sandwiches, soups, and salads. Options included a Ham Sandwich, a Turkey Sandwich, and a Ruben. They also offered a Mixed Greens Salad and Tomato Bisque Soup.

With a semi-similar menu, Guests can now get many of the items sold at Starring Rolls at the Trolley Car Cafe (Starbucks) just across the way. This includes the Butterfinger Cupcake. (Now with the name of Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Cupcake). In addition, it seems as though Guests can also pick up things like the Fruit Tart and the Napoleon at Trolley Car Cafe.

It has been indicated that this move is a permanent one. No word on what will happen with the space going forward.

  • Oh, no! So sad!!
OK, service could be slow when busy and space inside at a premium, but they offered good, tasty pastries and snacks and decent hot tea with milk (I’m not a coffee person!)
My very favourite eatery at WDW and the last remaining place to get a DECENT apple turnover. (I’m not a chocolate or cream lover either)
However, if anyone knows where Disney may have similar apple turnovers on offer, please let me know.
Sorry but the offerings at Trolley Car Café previously not in the same league!!
Lets hope they remodel and reopen it….

  • The problem is that Starbucks took all the sandwiches off the menu so if you want anything other than a cupcake you are out of luck.
