In Case You Missed ItWell, today is Friday the 13 and so with that, I have a pressing question. Now, the saying is it’s bad luck for a black cat to cross your path on Friday the 13. How does that work if I have a black cat the crosses my path every day and is certain to cross my path today too? I think I’ll risk it. My cat, Professor Snape (yes, I did name my cat after a Harry Potter character and yes, Professor Snape is his actual full name) is pretty loving, you know…when he wants to be.

This week has been chock full of news! Take a look at a new patent that could signal a new attraction on the horizon, see which Disney film has been shelved, and find out which celebs you can see at Universal’s celebration of all things Harry Potter, plus so much more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Victoria & Albert’s received the number two spot in TripAdvisor’s top 10 fine dining restaurants in the United States. (Yep…that’s right, I said out of the entire U.S., not just Orlando, or Florida.)

This week, Disneyland had a very interesting and eerie looking backdrop thanks to those awful fires in California. We hope that those impacted are remaining safe.

A droid named Jake is currently being tested around Disneyland. Is the something we will see in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?

Could this recently filed patent indicate a potential future attraction for either Walt Disney World or Disneyland? (And since we know that Guardians in Epcot is going to be a coaster now, could this be how they’re going to do it? Or is this for Disneyland’s rumored Spiderman attraction? Or is it, by chance, for both?)

The Asian Business Association-Los Angeles recently recognized The Walt Disney Company’s supplier diversity efforts with its Corporation of the Year award.

Watch Bob Iger’s recent interview with Vanity Fair. It’s an very interesting look, for sure.

If you missed The Chew live from Epcot this week, here’s where you can go to catch up. Which episode was your favorite?

This is pretty darn cool and I added it to my Spotify list as soon as I learned about it. D23 created a playlist to celebrate Epcot’s 35 that you should add to your rotation now.

The Disney Movies Anywhere app where you can buy and watch Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars films across multiple devices, has just opened its doors to content from other studios. What do you think of this new development?

Southwest Airlines and Pixar have teamed up together to create a Coco-inspired plane! I hope I’m flying on it during my next trip!

Looks like Gigantic isn’t happening. Disney has shelved this project about Jack and the Beanstalk. Kind of sad to hear that, but given the rumor that this movie was causing Disney issues, I can’t say I’m surprised.

Whoops! Mark Ruffalo accidentally live streamed the first 10 minutes of Thor: Ragnarok during the preview.

So….a little film trailer came out this week. It’s for a film called Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Never heard of it.  😉  Anyway….here’s a frame by frame breakdown. If you want to speculate. (Also, if you haven’t seen the trailer or if you don’t want spoilers, don’t take a look at the breakdown.)

Out of the blue, this week, Universal announced that Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular-100 Years of Movie Memories would no longer return and they would be introducing a brand new nighttime spectacular. What do you think of this news and are you sad you didn’t get to see the spectacular one last time?

Universal lost a discrimination case involving a man and his motorized scooter.

Want to know who the first celebrities are that have been announced for A Celebration of Harry Potter are? We’ve got the answers for you.

Here’s the third installment in the Halloween Horror Nights Behind the Scenes series. I still think this is a pretty cool look at how the magic is made.

There’s been a change in COO for Dreamworks Animation. The company has hired Focus Features and Universal Pictures veteran Abhijay Prakash.

  • Rikki, these articles are always interesting – but my favourite part of today’s was learning about your cat, Professor Snape! Great name by the way. 🙂

    • Hahaha! Jillian, I’m so glad you appreciate Snape’s name. 🙂 He’s my sweet boy, albeit a little skittish. He really does have the personality of Professor Snape, the character, so the name was perfect, even though I didn’t know it when I named him.

  • I too have a black cat, who regularly trips me up! Luckily I’m not superstitious . Mine hasn’t got such a cool name though although she does regularly channel her inner Voldemort as my ankles will attest to when I’m late with her dinner.

  • I love your cat’s name. I wanted to name our two James and Lily, but my husband the computer guy over ruled me and we ended up with Mac & Tosh. It was for the best. They really aren’t brave like James and Lily were.
