If you didn’t know already, back in March we made all of our premium or personalized Touring Plans accessible via our Disney Mobile App, Lines. Now, we’re making it easy for you to track your progress as you tour!

Simply fire up Lines, find the premium or personalized Disney World Touring Plan or Disneyland Touring Plan you’d like to use, and click “Select Plan” at the top. As you complete each step in the plan, click on “Done!” on the right-hand side of each step. The number you’ve completed and the number of steps left will update at the top, and the steps that you’ve completed will move to the bottom of the plan. If you make a mistake, you can scroll to the bottom and click on “Undo” to move the step back to the main section. Note: for now, tracking your progress requires an internet connection.

Hey folks! Over the past month or two, we’ve been slowly but surely improving the interface and functionality for our Disney World and Disneyland Personalized Touring Plans system.

The first thing is the ability to create a Personalized Touring Plan using one of the Premium Touring Plans as a template. Simply go to any of our Disney World Touring Plans or Disneyland Touring Plans and click on the “Copy Plan” link on the top-left. If you want to take the Disneyland Dumbo-or-Die-in-a-Day plan and modify it so your child gets to ride Dumbo at least 5 times, you can now easily do that.

We’ve also been cleaning up the interface: it’s now easier and simpler to create plans and to add and edit attractions and restaurants. We’ve also added a few new data fields: we’ve added “Time of Day” and “How many minutes” to Dining plan steps, and we’ve added “Breaks” to allow you to more easily schedule in downtime. You can now define an optional Start & Finish time to the plan itself, so you can keep track of when you’re arriving and departing.

Just a reminder: any touring plans that you create on the site, you can also access via our Disney App, Lines!

Heads up: we’re having issues with certain ISPs blocking our Crowd Tracker emails. We’re working with our email deliverability service to resolve the issue, but until we mitigate it, you may want to keep checking the Disney World Crowd Tracker and Disneyland Crowd Tracker for updates. Also note that we update this blog whenever we update the Crowd Calendar.

TouringPlans.com and our Lines App were put to the test last week by FOX 13′s Consumer Reporter Chris Chmurra and Producer Jeff Schlesser. They split up at the Magic Kingdom, with one using a touring plan from our Disney World App and one going it alone. Our Magic Kingdom Touring Plan bested instinct by 91 minutes! Here’s the video:

Just received word that Fantasmic in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be returning to nightly performances starting on July 2nd through September 30th, 2011! Park hours have been adjusted as well, see below! UPDATE: our system now displays the most current park hours, but it’ll take a couple of days to update our Crowd Calendar and wait time models.

The day we’ve been waiting for is finally here in Disneyland! Star Tours: The Adventures Continu and The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure are opening today at the Disneyland Resort. The wait times will be hard to predict over the next few weeks, but we’ll be on-the-ground to try to keep you updated as much as possible. We also encourage our fabulous Disneyland Lines users to help contribute as many wait times as possible!

In case you’re not following StarToursLive.com yet, we’ve entered our third day of being on-the-ground at Disney’s Hollywood Studios waiting for the new Star Tours 2 attraction to open. SO EXCITED are we about the new attraction that we’re going to be there every day through its official opening on May 20th, 2011. We’re furiously posting updates to Twitter and Facebook as well as uploading photos from outside the attraction every 15-20 minutes (aka, LIVE!).

If you’re headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disneyland over the next month, be sure to grab the free mobile apps we’ve made specially for this attraction. They’ll include push notifications when any news breaks out — especially if soft openings begin! This is, of course, in addition to our own Disney World Lines and Disneyland Lines apps.
