I’ve got lots of fun…like details about the upcoming Pixar short, Lava, a fantastic look at the Walt Disney Pictures logos through the years, and much more! In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

I’m sure by now, you’ve seen the latest rumors…that Disney will be likely opening a Jungle Cruise-themed restaurant in the location of the former Adventureland Veranda and Tinker Bell’s Magical Nook. What are your thoughts on this development? As for me, I’m super stoked, but then again, my brother was a Jungle Cruise skipper at one time. I really hope this one comes to fruition and gets announced officially soon.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge have received the Association of Zoos and Aquariums accreditation yet again. Congratulations to the park and resort because that is a big honor.

In Case You Missed It!

It’s finally spring! Yippee! Bye, bye crummy weather…well for the most part. Are you as happy as I am that spring is here?

This week, I’ve got some very interesting pieces to share, including a look at the artwork on the Disney Dream, lots of good old fashioned Muppet fun, and much more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

While it was all started by a mouse…the parks may have never happened if it weren’t for Walt’s love of trains. Find out why.

Ever wonder what the Utilidors (the tunnels beneath the Magic Kingdom) looked like…in the 1970s? See the fun details and some fantastic graphics that I wish would be used today to represent the different lands in the park.

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

Wow! This weekend is tapped to be a busy one! You have Cinderella in theaters, St. Patrick’s Day festivals all over the country, and lots more general fun! What are you looking forward to this weekend?

In this week’s In Case You Missed It, there’s lots of movie news, lots of details from the Disney shareholder meeting, plus what could be rumored for Innoventions at Disneyland, and more! Read on to find out everything you may have missed!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Have you ever wondered how MagicBands came to be? This fascinatingly in-depth article takes a good hard look at some of the behind-the-scenes process that went into the creation of this brand new system. Really, if you read anything I’ve shared in this post today, make sure you read this article!

Yesterday was the Disney shareholder meeting and of course, three big pieces of news came out from that. The first as that a Frozen sequel is absolutely in the works. I think we all knew that was coming. No matter whether you have Frozen fatigue or not, it’s pretty obvious that Disney would be foolish to not make a sequel to that movie. The second is the name of the first stand alone Star Wars film, as well as the date for Star Wars Episode VIII. The third is courtesy of an awesome 6 year old who got accidental confirmation from Bob Iger that yes, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be getting a name change. (Can we have this 6 year old get Iger to accidentally spill the beans on what other changes are in store for Disney’s Hollywood Studios…or whatever the name will be? I think we all want to see what’s clearly coming for that park.) What are your thoughts on all the great goodies dropped at the shareholder meeting?

Congrats to Big Hero 6 and Feast for their big Oscar wins! Super exciting for Walt Disney Animation!

Congrats to Disney Cruise Line!  They won multiple awards from Cruise Critic’s Cruiser’s Choice Awards for 2015, including the big one…Best Overall…an award they’ve won for 3 years in a row! Check out all the honors they received.

Disney has filled the role left vacant by Tom Staggs move to Chief Operating Officer. This week, Disney announced their new pick for Chairman of Parks and Resorts, Bob Chapek. It will certainly be interesting to see what this means for the parks…one thing I noticed off the bat is that he’s awful light on parks experience. What do you think about this move?

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of February 20, 2015

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

Who’s going to see McFarland, USA this weekend? It looks like an interesting film and a great addition to the Disney sports film legacy.

In this week’s post, we’ll try to avoid sharks, interview Baymax, and celebrate with Cinderella, plus more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

ABC News recently took a look at some of the unique burgers you can get at ESPN Club at Disney’s BoardWalk. I have to tell you, having had a peanut butter burger before, it’s actually quite good…though not sure about the addition of jelly, but it seems like this is more of a savory jelly than anything else, so I’d be game.

What a great Valentine’s Day experience! This couple visited not one, not two, but three different Disney Parks Resorts in 24 hours! Would you ever attempt something like that, if you could?

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of February 13, 2015

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

Happy Friday the 13th!  While I can avoid walking under ladders and breaking mirrors, I cannot stay away from black cats, given that I own one. Oh well. Guess that means bad luck for me. (He’s worth it. He’s such a sweetie.)

Also, here is your reminder that tomorrow is the day. If you haven’t bought something for your sweetheart yet, better do it now. And for those who are not relationshipped up…never fear! To quote one of my favorite TV shows, Parks and Recreation, “Treat Yo Self!” (And also make sure you tell a friend or a family member how much you love them. I made sure to send my parents and brother Valentine’s Day cards just to tell them how much they mean to me.)

Today, journey with me as we take a selfie, feel our Spidey sense flare up as there are changes afoot, and win a Grammy. (Ok…I didn’t win a Grammy…where’s Kanye championing my cause?)  Anyway…let’s get to it!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Walt Disney World…wait…first…let me take a selfie. Ok…so, back to what I was discussing…Walt Disney World was named as the second most popular place to take a selfie. I’m gonna be honest…I do it all the time. So, I’d say the findings are correct.

This family is traveling, by foot, to Disneyland to Walt Disney World to honor their daughter who passed. I wish them the best of luck in their mission.

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

Ok Mr. Groundhog…I have a bone to pick with you. Why do you always have to see your shadow? I am so done with winter! Can we please start getting to spring here soon? I’d like to not be freezing any more.

So, it looks like this week was a big one for the Walt Disney Company;  their first quarter earnings were released, Tom Staggs got a promotion, Shanghai Disneyland was pushed back, and more. Find out everything in this week’s edition of “In Case You Missed It”

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Looks like we’re one step closer to finding out who will become Bob Iger’s successor. Tom Staggs was named as COO of the Walt Disney Company. Though, it isn’t 100% that Tom Staggs will get the top spot, this is a pretty good sign.

Disney released its earnings for the first quarter of the 2015 fiscal year. See how things all shook out.

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

Who is ready for some football? Who is ready for commercials? Who is ready to gorge themselves in delicious food? (I’m ready for the last two…not really into the game this year…)

Anyway….I’m here with articles that run the gambit this week.  We take a look at the top hotels in Orlando, just who could take the whip from Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones movies, and much more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

A very thought-provoking article that asks many questions, as we move towards the end of Bob Iger stewarding the ship, such as has the Disney brand been diluted and should the company may be consider looking outside its walls for its next CEO? Lots of things to ponder from this one. A very good read indeed.

Disney is well known for its success in running its theme parks. Many executives have written books on how Disney achieves its success. One such executive is Lee Cockerell, who shares in this article just some of the tips executives and business owners should consider when managing their own company that Disney employs within their walls.

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

I promise that this week’s “In Case You Missed It” has not be deflated in any way, shape, or form; it is perfectly intact. No DeflateGate here!

This week’s article features a plethora of fun including a cool relic from 1955 Tomorrowland, an article about what could be behind Frozen’s popularity, and more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Congrats to the all new Four Seasons resort! It was named as one of AAA’s Five Diamond Award recipients, making it the only Five Diamond resort in Orlando.

Reports were released of the injuries associated with rides at the major theme parks in Orlando; here are this quarter’s results.

Oh my god, I’m in love! Have you seen the new Starbucks/Disney mugs? I’m not one who usually has to collect coffee mugs, despite my massive love for coffee, but these I think are gonna be must-haves. (I’m also gonna need that plastic tumbler too.)
