by on August 12, 2016

ICYMIDo you have Olympic fever? It’s been running rampant this past week, of course. I’ve enjoyed following along with all the events. What about you?

Are you planning on seeing Pete’s Dragon this weekend? How are you hoping it compares to the original?

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Like most other media conglomerates, Disney is fighting the eminent threat that cable cord-cutting poses. Here’s the latest way they are attempting to fight the cause.

If you’ve visited Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando this summer, we’ve been realizing it has seemed a bit quiet in Orlando this year. According to Disney’s earning report for this quarter, the feeling is indeed true, as theme park attendance declined.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of August 5, 2016

by on August 5, 2016

ICYMIMan, it seems like that Disney rumor mill has been heating up a lot the past few months. It’s always interesting when that rumor mill starts churning. That’s for sure!

This week, we’ll learn some interesting tidbits from Michael Eisner, take a look at The Hulk, and more.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Is the TCM deal to sponsor Great Movie Ride going to be dead here soon? What do you think of this potential rumor that Disney is declining to renew the contract?

If you’ve been to Walt Disney World this summer, then you know that the parks have been quieter than usual. Here are some of the reasons why.

There has been fighting on both sides of the important issues this summer season. You are either fall on one side or the other and it’s pretty divisive. While most fall in the hate it category, here is one article that shares why changing DCA’s Tower of Terror to a Guardians attraction isn’t necessarily the worst thing…nay that it actually makes sense.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of July 29, 2016

by on July 29, 2016

ICYMI

I just got back from a fabulous weekend at Walt Disney World! It was great to finally get to experience Frozen Ever After and Soarin’ Around the World after successfully avoiding major spoilers for both! I say that’s a pretty impressive feat for me. (You know, especially given that I report on the news…) I thought both were well done and will certainly need to ride them a few more times to really suss out how I feel about both.

So, I need you to please tell me…how did we get to the end of July? Pretty soon (actually very soon for some areas) school will be back in session and we’ll be getting our costumes ready for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! The outside temperatures aren’t indicative of that, but it’s all coming!

This week, see where Disney Cruise Line ranked in the Travel+Leisure’s 2016 Annual World’s Best Awards, learn about this quarter’s theme park injuries, and more. Let’s go!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

So, it now appears that Disney is not interested in Egg Island in the Bahamas for Disney Cruise Line after all. Last week, the rumors indicated that they were deeply interested in the little island for potential use as a port.

The results of Travel+Leisure’s 2016 Annual World’s Best Awards have been announced and Disney Cruise Line was took second place in the Mega-Ship Ocean Cruise Line category.

This week, I share with you information about Disneyland’s 61st anniversary, details from the Star Wars Celebration, and more.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

In a somewhat surprising move (at least I think), the family of Lane Graves will not be suing the Walt Disney Company after their son died from the horrific alligator attack.

We’ve all been hearing the rumors about changes that could potentially be coming to Epcot. Here’s more proof that something could be on the horizon.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of July 15, 2016

by on July 15, 2016

ICYMI

Have you been wondering around town playing Pokemon Go? I can’t escape it! It’s being played in my office, around my neighborhood…it’s even being played in the Orlando theme parks (I know because it’s invaded my Twitter timeline!) I just can’t escape it!  I think it will be intriguing how this new app makes its way into theme parks going forward…particularly with that partnership Universal has with Nintendo now.

Speaking of Universal, this week was certainly heavy with Universal related news what with the official opening of Kong, info about Halloween Horror Nights, and more. Let’s see what more fun we can explore in this week’s In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Reign of Kong is officially open! USA Today takes a fantastic look at the newest attraction for Islands of Adventure.

by on July 8, 2016

ICYMI

I think we’re all living on the sun. That’s how it feels out there. Yowza! I saw someone mention that they were thinking about baking cookies on their car’s dashboard!

This week, learn more about when you can pick up D23 Expo tickets, see what Universal has up their sleeves, and more.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

I love this heartwarming story. Captain America at Disney California Adventure shares a special moment with a Guest. You may want to grab some tissues, especially if you’re like me and tear up at the drop of a hat.

Are you ready? Tickets for the D23 Expo go on sale soon! Are you going?

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of July 1, 2016

by on July 1, 2016

ICYMIHappy Fourth of July Weekend! For those of you in the U.S., while you’re out enjoying hot dogs, hamburgers, America, and fireworks, remember to stay safe out there!

This week, watch the evolution of Pixar, see how Disney may bring the plants to life in The World of Avatar, and more.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

If you had plans to go fishing at Walt Disney World, you should now know that you need to leave your pole at home! Following the recent alligator attack, fishing is forbidden unless it’s a part of a Disney-sanctioned excursion.

Is this how they are going to bring the world of Pandora to life? Seems like it’s possible.

The latest random Guardians of the Galaxy attraction rumor…it could be taking over Ellen’s Energy Adventure. At least it’s a better fit than Tower of Terror was for Walt Disney World. It’s still one where I’ll believe it when I see it.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Hundreds of people gathered at the Magic Kingdom for an unofficial gathering to celebrate those who were lost during the Pulse Nightclub shooting.

This week, a waitress from Morimoto Asia left a touching note for some customers who were affected by the recent tragedy. #OrlandoStrong

When I read this, just tears. I love JK Rowling even more.
