A small fire broke out at the Festival of the Lion King earlier this week. No injuries occurred.

This is such a tragic story and makes me want to put out the reminder. If you are struggling with depression and thinking about taking your own life, there is help. Call 1 (800) 273-8255. And know that there are people out there who care.

Muppets Courtyard…it could be a thing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of March 18, 2016

by on March 18, 2016

ICYMICan I just tell you, that this week is always one of my favorites in a year? First, you have Pi Day, then you have the Ides of March, then throw in the wearin’ of the green for St. Paddy’s Day…it was always my first sign that spring was coming and that warm weather would be here soon! Crazy, I know, but these few days was always my winter blues turning point.

This week, you’ll get to reflect on Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular, learn what movies are now going to be in the works for Disney (hint, both are sequels), and much more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

One of my favorite things that happens this time of year at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort are the intricate eggs that are created from candy. Take a peek at some of the great ones for this year. Seriously…these Cast Members who create these are amazing artists!

Is a 5000 seat theater for Rivers of Light going to be enough?

If you aren’t reading Yesterland, you should. Take a look at Part 1 in a three part series of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland at WDW.

by on March 11, 2016

ICYMIThis week the Disney news was flying. Rumors were abounding and lots of discussion was had in the social atmosphere. It was kind of a crazy week!

So, let’s take a look at it all, shall we? Would you pay a resort fee to stay at a Disney resort? Do you want to go to the Yule Ball? Do you want to learn more about Captain America? Read further to find out more on all these great topics and more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Last week, it was announced that Disney was building two new cruise ships. This week, we have confirmation that the previous builder, Meyer Weft will be creating the new ships, as well.

So, there’s this…Disney is thinking of adding a resort fee to your hotel stay. I’m going to be frank and say that this is something I personally abhor. It is a pet peeve of mine when hotels do this. What say you? Would you have a problem with this? (Especially when it seems that most of the things mentioned as part of the “resort fee” are already things you get for staying at the resort currently.)

Disney COO Tom Staggs recently gave an interview talking about both Shanghai and the future of television. It’s interesting to see what perspectives the (likely) future CEO has.

Disney ranked number 5 on Fortune’s list of “World’s Most Admired Companies” this year. In addition, this week, Disney was named as the World’s Most Powerful Brand.
