In Case You Missed It!

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor…hi neighbor!

I’m back again this Friday with some fun goodies! They include accolades for Aulani, a first look of the new Guardians of the Galaxy animated series, and more! Let me know your favorite article in the comments!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Forbes released an intriguing article this week. It took a look at how Disney is interacting with its customers in these changing times of fast-moving marketing and how to stay relevant to guests wants and needs. Of course, we know the answer is MyMagic+, but, the article shares some thought-provoking points, nonetheless.

While ground has officially broken for two new Marriott hotels in the Flamingo Crossing area of Walt Disney World property, we could actually be seeing a few more hotels in the area; potentially 5 more. Hmmm….

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

So, now that we’re full into October, are you getting ready for Halloween yet? I’m slowly starting to decorate the house and I’m starting to see the neighbor’s decorations going up too. What are you doing to get ready for the spooky holiday? Do you carve pumpkins, go to haunted houses, hand out candy? I love hearing about what others do to celebrate! (PS: if you are carving pumpkins this year, consider making a pumpkin Olaf!)

This week’s collection of articles includes a look at the upcoming Tomorrowland movie, details on what potentially made Maleficent one of the best Disney villains, and more! There’s a ton I have to share with you, so make sure to let me know your favorite in the comments!

Napa Rose at the Disneyland Resort recently reopened for an extensive rehab. Read about what went into the refreshing of this popular restaurant, as well as additional details from Executive Chef, Andrew Sutton.

Speaking about fine dining restaurants, Victoria and Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian was named by TripAdvisor’s 2014 Travelers’ Choice awards as one of the “Top 5 Best Fine Dining Restaurants in the United States.”

In Case You Missed It!

Happy Birthday, Walt Disney World! This week, the entire resort celebrated its 43rd birthday! Have you ever been at a Disney Park on its birthday? It’s a fun atmosphere!

This week, I bring you lots of great fun, including a great feature story about Auntie Kau’i at Disney’s Polynesian, an article detailing the creation of some of the houses at Halloween Horror Nights, and so very much more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

To celebrate Walt Disney World’s birthday this week, Time marvels over how much the resort has grown in size.

Well, the news has been rapidly flying this week, thanks to a Puerto Rican newspaper called Metro, that the commonwealth would like to have a full-blown presence in World Showcase. (The article has been translated.) I will say that I noticed that Puerto Rico had a fantastic exhibit set up for this year, much more elaborate than other those for other countries.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of September 26, 2014

by on September 26, 2014

In Case You Missed It!

It’s a weekend of change. So many things are ending and closing up shop that it’s really crazy to think. I feel like I can’t remember a time in the recent past when we’ve had so many things officially ending.

Which one will you miss the most? Is it Off Kilter, MO’ROCKIN, the Studio Backlot Tour, most of the Frozen Summer Fun Live event (though a few features of that event will remain), the Legends of Frontierland in Disneyland? Or is it Maelstrom, which will be closing next weekend? For me, I think the answer is Maelstrom, but I’m still surprised to see some of these things on the cutting room floor.

This week, I’ve seen information regarding a Mighty Ducks reunion, a new stage show for the Disney Magic, and more! Read on for all the details!

It’s almost like you can feel Walt Disney’s presence! Take a look at Walt’s family home, which he lived in from 1932 until 1950. The video makes it seem so quaint and serene. It’s like a perfect hideaway, and I can almost see Walt walking around there.

Is there another new restaurant on the horizon for Disney Springs? According to the Orlando Business Journal one Chicago restaurant group may be eying the updated shopping and dining district.

It’s a boy! The second gorilla in a month has been born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Guests will be able to see this new cutie at the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.

Looking to stay at a luxurious hotel while in Orlando? USA Today shares the top 10 best. See which ones made the list. There really are some great ones that did!

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of September 19, 2014

In Case You Missed It!

One of my favorite days is here!!!! It’s the start of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival! And you can bet your booty I’m at the park today! Do you look forward to the Festival? Let me know what you think should be on my can’t miss list this year, since I’m actually lucky enough to have two trips scheduled to Walt Disney World right now within two weeks of each other!

Besides my obvious excitement for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, there was a lot of other Disney excitement this week.  There’s a new manatee at Epcot, a great article about how Universal’s CityWalk was created, and more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

When guests visit Epcot, it seems like there will be a new animal on display at The Seas! A manatee by the name of Lil Joe! Can’t wait to see the big guy in his (hopefully) final home.

I found out something completely new this week! Did you know that The Morocco Pavilion has its very own website? It’s pretty basic, but interesting to know it exists.

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

I love a short week! I’m sure you do too. While most short weeks tend to move slower to me, I feel like this one went by so fast!

Of course, with the start of September, we start with the fun of Fall with many of my favorite restaurants bringing out the Fall-themed food. It’s a pumpkin lovers dream! I’ve already bought and enjoyed some great pumpkin-flavored treats! We also get the beginning of Fall activities at the Disney Parks too, which is undoubtedly my favorite season at Disney!  Which season is your favorite in the parks? Let me know.

This week, I’m sharing some great Disney movie Easter Eggs, how The Haunted Mansion’s effects work, and more! Let’s dive in!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Here’s a look at the Master Plan of Epcot from the 1977 Walt Disney Productions Annual Report. It is always so fun to see what could have been and how things matched up.

Have you ever wondered about the corporate sponsorships at Epcot? Forbes has a introspective look on Disney’s relationship with Siemens and why it works so well for both companies.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of August 29, 2014

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

This is it…the last “weekend of Summer,” unofficially of course. I hope you’ve got a ton of fun plans to take advantage of this long weekend. So, start it right! (We both know you stopped officially working hours ago in excitement of the holiday weekend.)

Read about the interesting things that I came across this week that I wanted to share with you, including a peek of the upcoming Inside Out, a Schoohouse Rock TV special, and more!

Hmmm…interesting…Disney could potentially use drones at the theme parks in the future…what do you think a creative use for this technology could be?

While Villains Unleashed had a few hiccups (ok…maybe more than a few) I found one thing that’s kind of fun. If you enjoyed the dance mix from the evening, here it is…all five sets. I think I’ve found my new running tracks…

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of August 22, 2014

by on August 22, 2014

In Case You Missed It!

It’s been a crazy busy week for me here…what about you? If your week has been like mine, you have likely missed a few things.

So today I bring you some fun articles about Star Wars Rebels, some of the first footage of Walt Disney World, and more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Disney was named as one of the “30 Most Genius Content Marketing Examples of 2014 (So Far)” for its behind the scenes looks at making park magic.

I so love old footage of Walt Disney World. This week I found some more great footage to share with you all from November 1971. It’s so cool to see what the park looked like back in the day!

I had no idea this even existed, but apparently there is an app out there based off the Pumbaa and Timon theme park safety tips. Kids can play tic-tac-toe and learn about park safety with short videos. It isn’t a super fancy app, but it is perfect for those with little ones to teach them about being “Wild About Safety.”

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of August 15, 2014

In Case You Missed It!

In Case You Missed It!

This week, my own world (as well as many others) was rocked by the news of Robin Williams passing. I grew up with Robin, entertaining me, making me laugh. Robin was such a huge part in my Disney experience. Matter of fact, Aladdin was the first movie I remember seeing with my whole family together. (My family didn’t go to movies often growing up, especially not all together.)

To honor his memory today, I share videos of both “Back To Neverland” which was shown at Disney-MGM Studios and Timekeeper, which could be found in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom.

I would just like to put out there a simple thanks to him for being the bright, shining star that he was, but unfortunately couldn’t always see himself.  I believe The Academy put it best on their social media: “Genie, you are free.”

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

To honor Robin Williams, the cast of “Aladdin” on Broadway, led by James Iglehart, who portrays the Genie in the show, invited the audience to participate in a sing-along of “Friend Like Me.” Here is that touching video.

Have you ever played The Great Piggy Bank Adventure found in Innoventions at Epcot and wished you could have your very own cute piggy bank?  Well, now you can finally purchase your own! He’s so adorable!
