In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of November 18, 2016

by on November 18, 2016

In Case You Missed ItHow is it POSSIBLE?! We are down to less than a week until Thanksgiving! I’m not even close to ready. I don’t have any food bought and my house is a mess. Guess that means we better dive into the fun! But before we do, I just want to share how thankful I am for you…those who read this column each week! (And if today is your first time…welcome to the fun!) I hope I bring a little knowledge or smile to your day each Friday. So thanks for letting me do it!

This week, we’re looking at what makes Moana so powerful (one week to go until the film is released–squee!), what Wine Bar George will have in store for Guests, and more.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of November 11, 2016

by on November 11, 2016

ICYMIWhat a whirlwind of a week! That is certainly for sure. In addition to Election Day this week, today is Veterans Day. So a big thank you to those who served our country, as well as those with family members who have served our country. Your sacrifices are appreciated.

This week, we take a look at a new experiment with custodial workers at Walt Disney World, TapuTapu technology at Universal, and more. What else did I find? Come along and let’s find out!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

The Hall of Presidents will be seeing some changes, as it goes down for a six month refurbishment beginning in January. Take a look at the history of the attraction and how the technology has changed over time.

This could be intriguing. Walt Disney World has begun experimenting with using iPhones to track some of its custodial workers and direct them to do specific tasks.

Have you been curious about how “The Muppets Present … Great Moments in American History” came about? You’ll want to make sure to read this article for the fascinating story.

DisneyQuest is like that illness that you just can’t shake. It just keeps hanging on. Looks like the dated entertainment complex is hanging around for another year, despite the fact that a new attraction had previously been announced for the space.

Speaking of Disney Springs…are you curious about what the menu will look like for Planet Hollywood Observatory? Here’s your first look. What looks good?

Changes are occurring at Disneyland in regards to security. Disneyland is looking to make things easier for guests by moving one of its checkpoints so that Downtown Disney will be inside its secured area.

Dapper Day recently occurred at Disneyland this week. People came dressed in their theme park finest. Take a look at how Guests dressed up in style. Speaking of Dapper Day, if you will be in Epcot tomorrow, you’ll be able to participate!

My goodness I fall in love with Neil Patrick Harris more and more when I hear about him talk about Disney. First he said if he weren’t an actor, he would have tried to be an Imagineer and second he’s raising his family right…with his two children having the theme parks being a part of their DNA! (Also, how awesome would it have been to attend the Walt Disney Family Museum Gala, which he hosted.)

If you’ll be going to Hong Kong Disneyland soon, you’ll be able to experience the Iron Man Experience found in Tomorrowland and will be a unique motion simulator attraction. It looks like it’s going to be really cool.

Disney has now crossed the 6 Billion global box office mark. This is the first time ever.

In sad news, a technician passed away at Men In Black this week. Our thoughts are with their family.

The rumor mill is heating up! Could Dragon Challenge be on its way out? What do you think would be good to replace it with?

It’s official. The sixth Universal Hotel will be called Adventura Hotel, will be 16 stories, and will feature a loft-style lobby. What do you think of this new resort? Would you stay here?

What do you think about Volcano Bay’s new TapuTapu technology? Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? What do you think it means for the theme park experience overall?

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of October 14, 2016

by on October 14, 2016

ICYMII know that last week was a stressful one. I was glued to my phone, waiting for any updates I could get about Hurricane Matthew. With friends and family living in the Orlando area, I am relieved that Matthew veered more towards the ocean and that Orlando didn’t take the brunt of the storm. I hope that those of you who were affected by the hurricane can return to normal soon. My thoughts are with you.

This week was, of course, heavy on Hurricane Matthew news, we have info about two new Disney shows coming in 2017, and more.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of October 7, 2016

by on October 7, 2016

ICYMIEditor’s note: this was written before Hurricane Matthew hit Florida. While we’re relieved the storm was not as serious as expected around the Orlando area, our thoughts are with those affected by the storm in the Caribbean, the Florida Atlantic Coast, and those still to see it along the Georgia and South Carolina coasts. We hope you enjoy a little non-weather news for a change.

This week, take a look at some incredibly cool construction photos of the Magic Kingdom, see what new merger Disney is considering taking part in, and more.
