Universal Orlando Resort Preview – Week of November 18

by on November 16, 2017

Hello everyone, it’s my favorite time of the year: Thanksgiving! My turkey is purchased and I’ve assembled a spreadsheet of the start times and temperatures for each dish. At Universal Orlando it’s full steam ahead to Christmas as their holiday entertainment begins this Saturday, November 18th.

Weekly Crowd Levels

With Thanksgiving this week groups are traveling on vacation to Orlando. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday are the busiest days with this coming weekend being the lightest on crowds. Saturday begins Universal’s new Christmas offerings, so expect locals to come out to see the new shows and parade. Additionally our own math wizard Fred Hazelton crunched the numbers and found that crowd levels at the Orlando parks are larger than normal for November.

Detailed crowd level information can be found here.

Disneyland Preview — Week of November 11

by on November 10, 2017

Big, festive week at Disneyland!  Runners descend upon the resort for what will be the last runDisney event out west for a while, and Christmas festivities are officially underway!  Read on to learn more in this week’s Disneyland preview.

Special Events and Notes

Lots of activity this week at Disneyland! First and foremost, expect a lot of guests at the resort for Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend. The 10K is held on Saturday, and there will be a half marathon on Sunday morning to wrap up the event. The races add a wonderful energy to the resort, but they also bring a lot of people to the area, even if they aren’t hitting the attractions. Between the runners and the people there to support them, the area may feel more crowded than the crowd levels (which are based on attraction wait times) would suggest. Notably, this will be the last runDisney event at Disneyland for the foreseeable future; it was recently announced that there would not be any events in 2018 on account of the construction for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and other resort improvements.
