Celebrate New Year’s Eve with a Special Meal at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ

According to the Walt Disney World site, Guests are invited to ring in 2018 with a special themed meal at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. The New Year’s Eve BBQ will include great entertainment offerings, as well as a delicious meal.

Guests who attend the event will be able to enjoy spirited bluegrass music and there will also be a DJ on hand, there will be a live video feed of the ball drop at Times Square, and of course, there will be characters, such as Mickey, Minnie, and Chip ‘n Dale.

The Mickey’s Backyard BBQ menu will include mouthwatering favorites including:

  • A variety of meats, including smoked chicken, baked salmon, beef brisket and Italian sausage
  • Lobster macaroni and cheese
  • Baked potatoes and assorted toppings
  • Hot vegetarian meal
  • Assorted cold salads, including kale salad, jicama carrot salad and roasted beet salad
  • Appetizers, including a cheese board, vegetable crudités, crackers, breads and fresh fruit
  • Kids’ options, like chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, hamburgers, hot dogs, fresh green beans and salad
  • Assorted desserts, like mini s’mores mason jars, cherry cheesecake and chocolate truffles

 

The evening will be capped off with champagne as you enjoy a breathtaking fireworks display from the Magic Kingdom.

The New Year’s Eve BBQ will begin at 8:30 p.m. at the Fort Wilderness Pavilion and costs $95 per adult and $75 per child (ages 3-9).

Get in the Spooky Spirit with the “Return to Sleepy Hollow” at Disney’s Fort Wilderness

The Headless Horseman is one of the most spooky things in Disney lore. He is a fan favorite during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but goes by in a flash. What if you want the ability to have a more personal experience?

Well, at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, you can with the Return to Sleepy Hollow experience.  During this event, Guests will be able to view the 1949 Disney animated classic film The Legend of Sleepy Hollow inside the resort’s Tri-Circle-D Ranch stables, but you should also be ready for an up close encounter with the Headless Horseman.

The Return to Sleepy Hollow opportunity will take place at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on:

  • September 29-October 2
  • October 5-9
  • October 12-16
  • October 19-23
  • October 26-31

The offering costs $22 per person, however there is also a premium seating option for $38 per person, which includes a priority photo opportunity with the Headless Horseman and a Halloween treat bag. Guests age 3 and older, will receive an exclusive limited edition pin. Disney Introduces New Tour – Escape to Walt’s Wilderness

Are you a fan of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort? Or do you really enjoy the outdoors? Well, then I have the tour for you with the brand new, Escape to Walt’s Wilderness Tour. This experience gives Guests a glance at the natural surroundings that became the perfect setting to accommodate Walt Disney’s grand dreams.

The adventure begins at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Marina where tour guides will take guests on-board pontoon boats for an eco-history tour of Bay Lake.

After arriving at Disney’s Fort Wilderness, Guests will head to the shore of Marshmallow Marsh for breakfast on the beach beside a giant bonfire and a enjoy camp-style breakfast that will include locally-sourced citrus salad, egg frittata, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, granola, coffee and juice. From there, the group will travel by horse-drawn wagon to the Settlement and Pioneer Hall and then will make their way over take part in an archery opportunity. (It’s time to get your inner Merida flowing!) Guests will also take a walk along the railroad tracks to learn more about Walt’s fascination with trains. Finally, Guests will head to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch horse barn to meet the celebrity horses who live and work at the Walt Disney World Resort.

In addition, A photographer will be on hand to capture photos of the group during the experience and for those who have purchased Memory Maker, those photos will be included. If you haven’t purchased Memory Maker, the photos will also be available a la carte on the Disney Photopass website.

This tour is a unique 5-hour experience that is available twice a week from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on select days and costs $109 per person, plus tax. Participants must be at least 7 years of age and availability is limited.
