I recently told you about the reimagining on Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The walk-through exhibit would be renamed as Walt Disney Presents and will debut on September 8.

The newly updated attraction will also include a preview of both new lands, as well as the attractions, coming to the park soon. There will now be a gallery featuring the model of Toy Story Land which opens in the summer of 2018, a model of the marketplace from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and concept art for the new ride Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Walt Disney Presents will still include the opportunity to take the self-guided tour about Walt Disney’s life, meet characters like Star-Lord and baby Groot, and see special sneak previews of upcoming Disney films. (Or if there’s no preview at the time, you’ll be able to catch the wonderful film about Walt Disney.)

One Man’s Dream to be Renamed & Add Preview Center

by on August 11, 2017

It looks like Derek Burgan was right. The “Everything Must Go” sale appears to be on at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as that park continually grapples with what its identity is going to be going forward into the future.

Today, Disney announced that One Man’s Dream will be seeing a bit of an update….but the update mostly comes in a name change. The walk through attraction will soon be renamed as Walt Disney Presents.

The overall exhibit itself won’t change much. You’ll still be able to see those significant items from Walt Disney’s history, such as sketches, photos, storyboards, and more. Guests will also be able to still catch previews for upcoming Disney films. (Or if there’s no preview at the time, you’ll be able to catch the wonderful film about Walt Disney.) And yes, you’ll still be able to take part in meet and greet opportunities, like the current one where you can meet Star-Lord and Baby Groot!

SATURDAY SIX: Six Reasons March is Going to be AWESOME!

by on March 5, 2016

This week’s SATURDAY SIX presents a brand new concept for us. The first Saturday of each month we are going to give a quick preview of some of the coolest things going on here in the theme park world in Florida, as well as those out there in California. We present to you Six Reasons March is Going to be AWESOME. Now it is going to be hard to top February considering we finally received details on Star Wars Land, had the soft opening of the Wizarding World West, saw the start of Universal’s Mardi Gras, and let’s not forget my personal debut as a YouTube sensation, but I think March just may be able to top it. So sit back, make sure you are wearing something green, and let’s start off with…

# 6 – Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Has Actual Souvenir Mugs! (Disney Springs)

Our long national nightmare is over. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, one of the coolest new additions to Disney Springs, finally has more souvenir mugs in stock. The Hangar Bar opened last September, and it debuted having a menu filled with pictures of unique souvenir mugs. There was only one catch: none of the mugs were available. Late in the year, the awesome Cool-headed Monkey mug arrived but nothing else. In March 2016, the clouds lifted, and new souvenir mugs are now in stock! Added to the list of available mugs are Reggie’s Revenge and the Hovito Mojito.. The cool mugs, unique stirrers (including a python snake and a blowdart), and a multitude of coasters make the Hangar Bar one of the best places at WDW for collectors.

# 5 – Zootopia Opens

Having just made its national premier yesterday, Disney’s newest animated film Zootopia is already wowing both critics (with a shockingly high 98% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes) and audiences alike. Since Disney bought Pixar, the two companies have seemed to go in opposite directions. The once flawless Pixar has been criticized for churning out sequels and even produced its first ever “flop” with last Fall’s The Good Dinosaur. Meanwhile Disney animation has been killing it with an incredible run that includes Wreck It Ralph, Big Hero 6 and the world wide phenomenon Frozen. Early reaction to Zootopia by the fans are overwhelmingly positive, and right now you’ll be able to catch the two main stars of the film at both the California and Florida parks. If the box office of the film matches the height of that audience score, we just may see more Zootopia in the parks sooner rather than later.

The Best Disney World Attractions for Naps

by on August 11, 2015

Carousel of Progress is a famous nap location, but is it the top choice?

Carousel of Progress is a popular nap location, but is it the top choice? Photo by Maddi Higgins

Naps are absolutely essential to a successful day at Walt Disney World. Human bodies are not designed to survive the high temperatures and treacherous treks through a Disney park. Unfortunately, whether it’s the timing of a reservation or the location of your hotel, it may not be possible to leave the park for your break. Lucky for you, I’ve done the strenuous research to discover the single best attraction in each park for a nap. My recommendations are based on the following criteria:

  • Comfort of Seating: It’s impossible to fall asleep if you can’t get in a comfortable position.
  • Length of Show: A 2-minute nap will not cut it when you need rest.
  • Temperature of Location: The point is to get out of the Florida sun. Naps are time to cool off.
  • Level of Noise and Light: If you fall asleep, you don’t want to be jerked awake by noise and bright lights.

Magic Kingdom Winner: Hall of Presidents

Hall of Presidents is famous for its napping accommodations. Unofficial Guide readers report it as their go-to spot for cranky kids—and adults—to relax. The location scores high in all napping qualifications.
