Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights Closing night video

After twenty years of warming holiday memories at Walt Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights has flickered out for the final time. Following a few days extension, the beloved annual tradition was extinguished for the last time ever on January 6, 2016, and we were there to capture the Dancing Lights closing seconds for you in ultra-sharp 4K video.

The last night of the Dancing Lights drew huge crowds to Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the evening. I attempted to park at the theme park around 6:30 p.m., and was redirected to Animal Kingdom instead. The busses arrived for us a a rapid pace, but the detour added at least a half-hour my trip.

After that posting, some readers wondered whether the small ceremony that kicks off each evening’s illumination is still occurring. Well, wonder no more, because I’ve brought you this complete video of the 2015 Osborne Family Spectacle lighting ceremony:

My Disney World Christmas Vacation Traditions

by on December 17, 2014

The most magical place on earth gets a little more magical around this time of year when the parks and resorts deck the halls with holiday finery and give Disney fans a reason to take one more Walt Disney World vacation! My family and I love to take a trip to Disney World around the holidays, and we have created a few festive traditions over the years. Check out a few of my Disney World Vacation Christmas Traditions.

Downtown Disney's Days of Christmas Store

Buying a New Ornament

It just wouldn’t be right to leave Disney World around Christmastime without a new ornament to add to our tree. My favorite place to shop for ornaments is the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square. I love how it feels like we’re walking through an old, colonial home. For a wider variety of Christmas décor, we like to drop by Disney’s Days of Christmas Store at Downtown Disney, where it really does feel like Christmas all year round.

Holidays Around the World

Epcot’s World Showcase is one of my favorite corners of Disney World, and I especially enjoy Holidays Around the World this time of year, where performances educate guests about the different holiday traditions of their respective countries. It’s a lot of fun to hear and see how other countries celebrate the holidays. Our favorites would be Father Christmas at the United Kingdom and the Voices of Liberty Dickens Carolers at the American Adventure. The special holiday treats and the chance to do a little Christmas shopping is pretty great too. After all, there’s no chance that what you’re buying as a gift is something someone already has when you shop at the stores in the Norway or China or Morocco pavilions.

Daisy Lauren’s Best Week Ever: November 13, 2014

by on November 13, 2014

1Hi, Everyone! Welcome to the Best Week Ever here at Walt Disney World! This week we’re attending the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, stopping by Downtown Disney and Epcot, then checking out the Osborne Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Phew – that’s a lot!  Let’s get going! :)

I was absolutely over the moon when I got the email from Touring Plans asking if I wouldn’t mind attending the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The truth was I’d been on the fence about going the first night, but the tickets sold out before I pulled the trigger. So let this serve as a warning to all of you to not delay picking up those party tickets! But what if you can’t make it this year? Well, no worries! Just click to read all about it.

Deck The Halls: Celebrating the Holiday Season at Walt Disney World

Get ready to build your snowman (maybe shaped like Olaf from Frozen), warm up the hot chocolate, get out the holly, and hang the tinsel, because the Holiday Season at Walt Disney World is official here and they are ready to celebrate!

The Holiday Season officially kicked off this week with more festive goodies scheduled to make their debut later on this month. Here’s a look at what you can expect to partake in at your favorite theme parks in the way of seasonal cheer.

At the Magic Kingdom, the Castle Dream Lights began early this week. The lights turn on each night during the Cinderella’s Holiday Wish show (usually around 6:15 p.m., but check your Times Guide to make sure). During the show, the castle is transformed into an icy wonderland that is simply breathtaking. Pictures honestly do not do this experience justice. You have to see it to actually believe it.

Also found at the Magic Kingdom is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This hard ticketed event will run for 19 nights throughout the months of November and December, with the first party kicking off on November 8. The parties include lively stage shows, spectacular fireworks in the form of Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Season, a unique holiday parade called Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, dance parties, Disney characters dressed in the Holiday garb, as well as complimentary cookies and hot cocoa, and snow flurries on Main Street, U.S.A. Party nights are:
