In a fascinating story, Epcot seems to have picked up a new sponsor, or rather, has begun sponsoring a nonprofit organization.

The Burnham Institute is a biomedical nonprofit research organization, primarily cancer research, and it was looking to establish a new lab location. This sort of location/facility means lots of money in new jobs and such for the local area. In general it’s a good thing, but especially for other businesses.

Disney was brought into the whole process of winning the company over, and decided to offer an exhibition space, free of charge, to Burnham. What exactly it entails is unknown, but a release from Burnham Institute mentions (roughly) “Tens of millions of dollars in free advertising at Epcot at Walt Disney World over the next decade.” If this translates to a simple Innoventions style exhibit or maybe something bigger is unknown.
