New Studios Happy Family touring plan

By popular demand, we’ve added a “Happy Family” touring plan for the Disney-MGM Studios. This plan includes specific advice for teens and older kids, and for parents with small children. The family stays together most of the day, including lunch and dinner, and splits up only when visiting attractions not appropriate for everyone. Every attraction in the plan is rated 3 stars or higher by the group visiting the attraction. Here’s the plan.

Disney Studios touring plans updated

We’ve updated the Disney-MGM Studios touring plans and cheat sheets to reflect the closing of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Millionaire’s closing may impact slightly how crowds tour the park. Taking this into account, we’ve proposed a new standard one-day plan for the park. This can be found in the list of Studios’ adult touring plans. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Tarps down at Seas

The big blue tarps have come down at the Living Seas revealing hard work done by imagineering to alter the large mural at the main entrance to the pavilion.

Pegs extend from the infished areas of the re-worked mural, suggested further additions. The reworking removed the likeness of the sunset on the ocean from the image and now the mural overall simply resembles waves or water.

The main entrance to the pavilion is still closed and guests will continue to use the exit to access the pavilion’s other areas (Turtle Talk with Crush and the observation decks) until the new Nemo ride is complete is the next few months.

Update: Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe opens Aug 13th

The Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station will close on August 11 and then reopen on August 13 as the Tomorrowland Terrace Café, a Table Service restaurant serving a dinner buffet.

The revised location will be open through October 5 (excluding September 2 – 16) from 5 – 9 pm. This location will not offer advance reservation throuh Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE) but reservations will be available at the Tomorrowland Terrace Café podium as well as the Plaza Restaurant podium.

The menu items will include salads, pastas, stir-fry, desserts and a carving station. The buffet price is $28.99 for Adults and $13.99 for children 3-9.

Sword in the Stone show to close

The Sword in the Stone show at the Magic Kingdom (with Merlin infront of the carousel) will have its final shows on Aug 13th and Aug 15th (no shows Monday Aug 14), 2006.

This show has been offered intermittently since Mickey’s Philharmagic opened, since the area is too crowded during peak times to allow the show to run.

DDP special Pop and AsMo offerings Aug 15 – Sept 4

To help with the crush of folks with free dining during the period of August 15 – September 4, 2006, Table Service meals on the Disney Dining Plan can be redeemed at the Pop Century and All Star Movies Resorts for counter service dinners with special entrees including prime rib, salmon, and turkey. These guests will also recieve the “trade in” offer for Table Service meals offered during this period.

Ticket Prices go up 8/6/06

Ticket prices will increase at Walt Disney World on August 6th, 2006. The general price increase is $4, bringing the standard 1-day ticket to $67. The old ticket price is still available for purchase from disney until Sunday, August 6th, so if you’re going soon you might want to purchase your tickets now.
