The end of Innoventions as we know it?

by on February 11, 2007

Recently Disney has struck many deals with major companies for spaces in Innoventions at Epcot. Siemens is said to be utilizing space in the exhibit in addition to their work on Spaceship Earth and the Burnham Institute was promised an area with a 10 year contract to lure their biomedical business to central Florida.

In the last week, the large cube-shaped Innoventions signs have begun coming down over the entrances to the buildings.

The most recent addition to Innoventions, Too Small to See, is a temporary installation that is meant as a touring exhibition that is going to begin visiting science museums around the country starting in the summer of 2007. The start of major construction work and the non-appearance of the two large sponsors – though their contracts have been known for a long time – suggests that Innoventions may be getting a major cosmetic overhaul in the near future.
