Hall of Presidents rennovation details

by on December 18, 2008

A recent story in the Orlando Sentinel has revealed some details of the renovation of the Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom. The show typically closes when a new president is elected, but this time they are taking the opportunity to overhaul the show. Upgrades include new digital projections and LED lighting systems for better overall show quality. Also, the sequence which announces all the presidents in order is being rethought to make it easier to follow. Disney wants to secure the voice of the newest president to speak but that negotiation wont be final until the vote is decided. Abraham Lincoln will still speak in the new version, but George Washington will be added as an additional speaking role. Reported return date for the attraction is July 4th, 2009.

by on December 17, 2008

The price of a one-year subscription to will increase by $1 to $8.95 on January 1, 2009. That works out to around $0.75 per month. Access to the site will still be free for owners of the current edition of the Unofficial Guide.

The last price increase was in 2006. Since that time we’ve added the ability to create your own touring plans, provided thousands of high-resolution photos and digital videos of the Disney resorts, and made significant improvements to the crowd calendar predictions.

In 2009, we’ll be adding travel blogs so you can keep up with the research team’s activities. Our hotel coverage will expand to include more of the book’s contents, plus additional material. Our photo tours will include the theme parks, attractions and water parks. And we’ll be supporting touring plans for destinations besides Walt Disney World.

Thanks very much for supporting the site, your comments and suggestions. It’s been a great 2008, and we look forward to an even better 2009.
