Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant at Downtown Disney to Close This Month

In preparation for the upcoming Disney Springs retheming and refreshing of Downtown Disney, Cap’n Jack’s, a restaurant specializing in seafood dishes (see menu), will close its doors on August 17, 2013. The closure of the restaurant was announced back in March; however, the exact date had been unknown.

The restaurant has been an institution on property, opening in the mid-1970s; however, the closure comes as no big surprise, given that it is widely panned among resort guests. The closure is reflected now in the restaurant’s calendar on Disney’s website, as no hours appear starting on August 18.

Disney Springs is currently under construction, with many parking lots currently closed as building progresses forward. The whole area, which will include more shopping and restaurants, is expected to finish in 2016.
