How Did The Crowd Calendar Do?

Last week,¬†wait times were up at Disneyland Resort. Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure saw crowds a step or two higher than usual. Tuesday and Wednesday the resort hit back-to-back level ’10’s on our scale, a feat usually reserved for holiday seasons like Christmas or Easter.

Sunday would end up as the least crowded day of last week at Disneyland Resort, surprisingly since both parks hit a level ‘8’. Peter Pan’s Flight averaged 58 minutes and Splash Mountain averaged 62.

Monday’s crowds were a step higher at Disney California Adventure with Monsters Inc reaching an average of 25 minutes, Tower of Terror 55, Soarin’ Over California 48, Grizzly River Run 61 and California Screamin’ 36 minutes – all level ’10’s on their respective attraction level scales.

Well, it doesn’t get any more crowded at Disneyland Resort than what we saw last Tuesday. Nearly every attraction hit an average wait time that represents the highest average we’ll see all year. Radiator Springs Racers averaged 124 minutes, the highest average since the summer it opened.

Crowds remained extreme on Wednesday although wait times took a slight dip at Disney California Adventure. Radiator Springs Racers averaged 104 minutes, by comparison.

Thursday’s crowd levels dropped closer to what the Disneyland Crowd Calendar predicted but still stayed above at both parks. Disneyland Park was the busier of the two with average waits like 37 minutes at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Friday’s wait times were much lower than we had seen mid-week but still high enough to be at the top end of our scale at both parks. Space Mountain averaged 54 minutes.

Saturday’s crowd levels swung back up a little compared to Friday but still didn’t reach the extreme levels we saw on Tuesday and Wednesday. Peter Pan’s Flight and Matterhorn Bobsleds averaged 54 minutes.
