The revolving door of World Showcase entertainment continued to spin during Thanksgiving Week, as Epcot welcomed a new musical group days after saying goodbye to two shows. Only days ago, the Canadian Lumberjacks swung their last axe and log-rolled right out of the park, and the week before we bade farewell to the UK pavilion’s Paul McKenna Band. To fill the void in that quadrant of the park, Walt Disney World premiered Quickstep in Epcot’s UK pavilion on Thanksgiving Eve, and we were there to capture one of the group’s debut day performances.

As you can see from the above video excerpt of their final opening-day set, Quickstep is an acoustic quartet playing folk tunes in a style very similar to the recently departed Paul McKenna Band. The Epcot times guide describes the group as “lively, acoustic musical repertoire from Scottish, English and Irish traditions.”

The foursome sets up on the sidewalk outside the tea shop and performs 10 to 15 minutes worth of songs, inviting the audience to clap and dance along. If you enjoy Quickstep, you can catch them at Epcot for the next 12 months, since they are here on a full year contract. They are on the current week’s schedule for Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 12:45pm, 1:45pm, 2:40pm, 3:30pm, 4:10pm, 5:20pm, and 6:15pm. Look for their updated performance schedule in Lines as it becomes available.
