Valentine’s Day Disney Gift Ideas

For some people, dinner, candy, flowers, or jewelry may be the go-to gifts for Valentine’s Day, but if your significant other is a Disney fan (and a trip to the world isn’t in the cards for this year), there are many other options for gift ideas available in parks or through the Shop DisneyParks app. Here are just a few favorites.

Mickey and Minnie Antenna Topper

Is there a cuter couple in the world than Mickey and Minnie? This Valentine’s Day topper is $5.95 and can be found in stores and on the app.

Duffy and ShellieMay Valentine’s Day Bears

2016-02-08 10.27.48

If you are a Duffy fan, you’ll find these “beary” cute. These 9″ plush bears are sold as a set for $35 and are available in stores and on the app.

Couples Mugs

2016-01-25 13.04.25

Over at the Mitsukoshi store in Japan, they have a selection of mugs that have handles that form a heart when set next to each other. If you are looking for something more overtly Disney, the Wall-E & Eve and Lady & the Tramp mug sets (available in stores or on the app for $25) are adorable.

As I wandered the Mitsukoshi store, I noticed they had several displays of Valentine’s Day gift ideas, but sadly these items are only available in store.

Prom Date Sculpture

2016-02-08 10.30.42Technically, this isn’t exactly a Valentine’s Day item, but it was too cute not to share. It is available in stores or on the app for $75.

Limited Edition Valentine’s Day MagicBand

2016-01-12 11.27.24

Although sold out already in stores and online, it is almost guaranteed that as long as there are MagicBands, there will be limited edition holiday ones, including one for Valentine’s Day. Here’s what this year’s release looked like, along with a video of its touchpoint special effect.

Here’s to more MagicBands changing the color on touchpoint!

But when we all become “special”, then nobody will be special 🙁

In short, the limited edition MagicBands (which have only a certain number of bands stated that they’re being made) tend to do special lights, sound effects, or both. Each one does different types of effects. I don’t think they’ll ever have the general release ones do special effects, so probably less than 5 percent of everyone visiting WDW will have those kind of special effects at the touchpoints. It’s a neat thing to have happen for the person using it and for people waiting in line behind, though. 🙂
