Are you as excited about the upcoming Epcot Festival of the Arts as I am? This brand new experience will take place for six weekends (Fridays through Mondays) from January 13 through February 20. The festival’s main goal is to combine visual, culinary and performing arts from around the world. This will be done with seminars, food booths, and Broadway-inspired performances.

First at the Epcot Festival of the Arts, Guests will be able to participate in unique workshops that allow your creative juices to flow.  The Interactive Workshops are $39+tax each. The full list of classes include:

Weekend 1 – January 13 – 16

Friday, January  13 – 11:00 a.m.
“Magical” Mixed Media Art, Rachelle Eason, BoiLedBooks
Create a magnificent mixed media piece using BoiLeD BooK paper and paint.  We’ll finish it off with a mat and some sparkle for a magical masterpiece to display!

Saturday, January 14 – 11:00 a.m.
Gesture Drawing Class, Todd Bright, Disney Animator
“Story Telling Drawings:” Come learn the art of quick sketching from life with aDisney animator. Gesture drawing of people is foundational practice for animators, story board artists, and directors. A single drawing can tell a story.

Sunday, January 15 – 11:00 a.m.
Floral Arranging with a Disney Floral & Gifts Designer
Imagine the Pixie-dusted possibilities as the Disney Floral Designers show you how to make a little floral design magic! In this session we will teach you the basic floral design principles and show you how to create a petite Tinker Bell inspired floral arrangement – all it takes is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust!

Modern Macramé, Sara Stoff, Fiber
Macramé is the art of knotting rope to make patterns. In this class you will learn basic macramé knots and how to make a modern wall hanging. Fun for the whole family!

Mickey Mouse is in the house! Let the Disney Floral Designers show you some of our favorite ways to add a little touch of Mickey-magic to any floral arrangement. During this session, we will share basic floral design principles along with some Disney inspirations to help you bring the magic of Disney home at any time of the year!

Watercolor Love, Rachelle Eason, BoiLedBooks
Paint a wonderful work of art blending watercolors to create a beautiful sentiment. A choice of shapes will be available for your selection. We’ll finish it off with a mat and your watercolor art will be quite a delight!

Sunday, January 22 – 11:00 a.m.
Become an Artisan Spice Blend Mix-Master,  Pam Smith, P.S. Flavor!
Learn how to blend spices the P.S. Flavor! way and become a top chef in your own kitchen! You will be mixing a P.S. Flavor! spice blend to your own tastes and using it to create a vibrant vinaigrette and sensational salad… flavor from start to finish!

Monday, January 23 – 11:00 a.m.
The Artistry of Amorette’s Patisserie,  Jade Bowser, Amorette’s Patisserie, Disney Springs
Come learn the artistry behind the decorating techniques of Amorette’s signature petite cake.  We will cover how to buttercream and decorate a cake while discovering the unique artistic touches of Amorette’s Patisserie.  In the end, you will have a one of a kind cake designed to honor Epcot!

Learn the basics of pointed pen calligraphy and work on a special project in class together. We will cover topics such as mastering faux calligraphy, how to hold your oblique pen, letter formation, common issues you may run into, and which paths you can take with your new skill!

Just like an artist creates a painting, you will create your own aromatic tea blend. All Interactive Workshops will take place in the Odyssey Festival Showplace and Guests can book select experiences now.

Also a part of the festival in collaboration with Disney Theatrical, some of your favorite music and Broadway talent will perform at the America Gardens Theatre during the Epcot Festival of the Arts. Throughout the six weekends of the festival, different pairings of phenomenal Broadway artists will perform songs from some of Disney on Broadway’s award winning shows. Performances will take place at 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Friday through Monday of each festival weekend. The artists include a fantastic lineup including:

January 13-16 and 20-23: Ashley Brown and Josh Strickland will perform songs from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Mary Poppins and The Little Mermaid
January 27-30 and February 3-6: Kerry Butler and Kevin Massey will perform songs from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Newsies and Aladdin
February 10-13 and 17-20: Kissy Simmons and Alton Fitzgerald White performing songs from Disney’s The Lion King, Aida, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid

Disney will also offer a dining package to enjoy. Guests can choose from either breakfast, lunch or dinner options. The dining package includes a three-course meal or full buffet and priority seating at the 8:00 p.m. concert at participating Epcot restaurants. Prices will range from $39-$69+ tax for adults, $23-$41+tax for children.

In addition, Future World Plaza will also be filled with unique live performances including Living Statues, performances by Central Florida high schools and university and college talent appearing through a partnership with Disney Performing Arts. Plus, you’ll be able to catch American Music Machine performing on the Future World Fountain Stage.

Of course, it isn’t a Festival without food and this one will include unique offerings that really are works of art. They will be so pretty that you won’t want to eat them! Here is a visual sampling of what these Epcot Festival of the Arts Food Studios will offer.
