It may be July, but it’s time to start thinking about the spookiest time of the year – Halloween. Everything pumpkin will be here before we know it, once again. And this year, Disneyland Resort will be growing its Halloween offerings!

Announced over the weekend at the D23 Expo, Cars Land at Disney California Adventure will be celebrating Haul-O-Ween. Here, Scary the Scarecar will stand guard over the entrance to Route 66. Lightning McQueen, Mater, Cruz, Red and DJ will all be dressed up for the occasion as a super hero, a “van-pire,” a pirate, a clown and a punk rocker. In addition, the citizens of Radiator Springs will be decorating their homes to celebrate the season. Visit Fillmore’s Jack-Oil Lanterns, Flo’s Spider-Car, Witchy Miss Lizzie’s shop, and the Cozy Cone will be dressed up in car-stumes! The land will truly turn to Radiator Screams!

In addition, some of your favorite attractions will be able to be experienced in new ways as Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters transforms into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.  Scary the Scarecar will stand guard over the entrance to Route 66, a preview to the Haul-O-Ween transformation awaiting guests in Cars Land.

But that’s not all! On Buena Vista Street, Guests will be able to spot new Halloween decor that is inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas! Here, Oogie Boogie has risen from the shadows and his oversized silhouette beckons guests through the main entrance as a swarm of bats encircle Carthay Circle Theatre.

Also new for Disney California Adventure during Halloween Time will be a pre-party mix-in for Mickey’s Halloween Party. This will be a separate-ticket event that features special entertainment, Disney characters in their Halloween attire, and trick or treating at locations throughout Disneyland. This year, a ticket to Mickey’s Halloween Party is an even better value as guests will be able to visit Disney California Adventure as well as Disneyland during the three hours prior to the beginning of the party in Disneyland.

New for this year, admission to Mickey’s Halloween Party will include complimentary Disney PhotoPass.

Disneyland will also be bringing back frightfully fun thrills for Halloween Time with their popular Halloween attractions Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. There will also be great themed food and merchandise, and the wonderfully spooky décor on Main Street, U.S.A. that includes a giant Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern and a Pumpkin Festival. Disneyland will also continue to offer its traditional Diá de los Muertos skeleton display in Frontierland for the Halloween season, through November 2.

Halloween Time will run from September 15 through October 31! One thing is for sure, it’s going to be an spooktacular fall at the Disneyland Resort this year!

  • Sounds great! Will you be making changes to the crowd calendar for September and October? If so, when will we see those changes?
