One Man’s Dream to be Renamed & Add Preview Center

It looks like Derek Burgan was right. The “Everything Must Go” sale appears to be on at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as that park continually grapples with what its identity is going to be going forward into the future.

Today, Disney announced that One Man’s Dream will be seeing a bit of an update….but the update mostly comes in a name change. The walk through attraction will soon be renamed as Walt Disney Presents.

The overall exhibit itself won’t change much. You’ll still be able to see those significant items from Walt Disney’s history, such as sketches, photos, storyboards, and more. Guests will also be able to still catch previews for upcoming Disney films. (Or if there’s no preview at the time, you’ll be able to catch the wonderful film about Walt Disney.) And yes, you’ll still be able to take part in meet and greet opportunities, like the current one where you can meet Star-Lord and Baby Groot!

However, this updated showcase will also serve as a preview center for Guests to see what’s coming up next for the park. So, you’ll be able to see concept art, ride vehicle maquettes and a never-before-seen model for the upcoming Toy Story Land which opens in the summer of 2018. You’ll also be able to view a portion of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge model which will also be on display. There will also be concept art for the new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction. The new preview center displays will begin showing up in mid-September.

One Man’s Dream has previously included models of upcoming attractions, including the model for New Fantasyland.

I’m excited to see that this showcase of Walt Disney will still remain in the park because it’s important for those who don’t realize that Walt Disney was really a man and not just a corporate symbol, but it’s also great to see that the space will showcase the future of the company too. It’s kind of fun to see where the company has come from and where they’re going.

  • Not that it really matters, but will D23 still be the “sponsor?”
