Yesterday, Disney released a brand new update for its My Disney Experience app and let me tell you, this was a fantastic update! It includes some perks that have long been asked, as well as some other very helpful tools for those traveling to Walt Disney World.
First things first, Guests can now keep track of their purchases that are charged to their room’s hotel account. Genius! Now, we can see, at a glance, right from our phones how much our bill will be, instead of getting that shocked expression at the end of your trip when you paid your bill.
Another nice perk courtesy of this update is that for those who are the Disney Dining Plan, you can now keep track of how many credits you have left. Again, another hugely welcome addition, because now you don’t have to keep your receipts at the end of your meals to keep track; you simply just have to look at your phone. It will not only tell you how many you have left, but it will also alert you to how many credits you have total and how many you have already used. Another genius addition!
The last major addition with this latest update of the My Disney Experience app is that Annual Passholders can now renew their pass right from their phone. Easy peasy! You can also make changes to the type of pass you’re wanting to renew. You can renew your whole family at once, or if just one person in your family needs their pass renewed, you can do that with ease too. (For example, my husband and I have two different renewal dates for our Annual Passes…so I would be able to choose to renew just my pass when it’s up for expiration.)
Overall, I think these are some fantastic additions to the My Disney Experience app and I’m excited to see where things will continue to go in the future. (PS: Disney….if you’re reading this…can you please allow me as an AP holder to put my credit card in so that I can just use my MagicBand for my charges – and use it with my AP discount?
