Ports of Call
Disney Cruise Line: In The News
During the Very MerryTime cruise season, each of the four ships designed and built a stunning gingerbread house in the atrium. While it was done for guests to soak up the sight and smell, it’s also an annual friendly competition between the ships to see who creates the most outstanding edible domicile. This year, the prize went to the team on the Disney Wonder, and well deserved!
The following films are being shown aboard the Disney Cruise Line ships this month:
- Beauty and the Beast
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
- Cars 3
- Doctor Strange
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens
- Thor: Ragnarok
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi
For future reference, films debut on the Disney Cruise Line the same day of their initial release in the United States. Films do vary by ship. Show times are available in your Personal Navigator or the official Disney Cruise Line app.
Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information
Ringing in the New Year at sea? There will be no shortage of celebrating! Even though Disney is known for fireworks on Pirate night, if you’ll be sailing on New Year’s Eve, you may be in for a treat with a second night of fireworks! Last year, festivities went from morning until midnight, and included a New Year’s-themed drink of the day, crafts, a party just for the Oceaneer Clubbers, and a deck party with a countdown to fireworks. You can check out some of the Personal Navigators from two New Year’s Eve cruises here and here for an idea of what to expect this year!
From now until February 15, 2018, DCL is once again offering the 50% off deposit promotion – pay only half of the usual required deposit at the time of booking. If you are thinking about booking a new 7-night or longer cruise departing between June 23, 2018 and May 31, 2019, you may be eligible for this offer. The remaining balance will be due at the time of the final payment. There are some restrictions to this offer — it is not available for IGT, OGT, VGT, suites, or concierge staterooms, and it cannot be combined with any other terms or discounts. This offer is available if you book direct, or with your favorite travel agent!
Are you deciding whether to book a Disney Cruise but are having a tough time deciding which ship fits all of your desires? Well, our own Laurel Stewart has put together a chart that makes it easy to compare all of the options in one place. Also available as a valuable planning and companion guide from authors Len Testa, Erin Foster, and Laurel Stewart is The Unofficial Guide to the Disney Cruise Line. The companion guide contains a complete overview of each Disney ship as well as Castaway Cay and includes valuable tips on how to save time and money during your cruise!
