If you are staying at the Walt Disney World resort and looking for a different way to get to the Orlando International Airport besides Disney’s Magical Express, the resort is testing the Minnie Van Service as a means to take Guests to MCO. Guests can only use this option when traveling to the airport; they currently cannot use this option from the airport to their resort.

This option is being offered at select Disney Resorts (right now, it’s just Disney’s BoardWalk) for airline flights that depart from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. The Minnie Vans can transport up to six Guests per vehicle and can carry up to three car seats. This option, as of right now is only available for those staying in Club Level and Guests should see the concierge and have the following information ready:

  • Date and time of departure
  • Airline
  • Flight number
  • If they are TSA PreCheck
  • Number of passengers traveling in the Minnie Van
  • Number of car seats that will be needed

It is recommended that Guests take part in the Resort Airline Check-In if they are wanting to use the Minnie Van Service to transport them to the airport.

The cost to use this service to the airport is a flat $150, which means that the more Guests you have in your party, the better value it’s going to be to use this service.

The Minnie Van Service was introduced back in July and it provides Guests with transportation throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, giving them a seamless way to get from point to point. The idea behind it is similar to common ridesharing apps, Uber and Lyft. Disney has partnered with Lyft, and Guests will be able to arrange their own private Disney vehicle right from the Lyft app on their smartphone. The cost to transport Guests around the Walt Disney World Resort is a flat $20.

Although the Minnie Van Service has the ability to take Guests all throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, only Guests staying at the following resorts are technically eligible to use the service at this time:

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Stay tuned for further information about the continued roll out of the Minnie Van Service.

  • Am I the only one who is really confused why anyone staying in a Disney resort would pay anything (let alone $150!) to be transported to the airport, when DME is completely free?

  • I was interested in this for service to/from Amtrak’s Orlando station, since there’s no equivalent to DME. Then I saw the price, and figure I’ll use an Uber or taxi.

    • Where do you travel from, Dean? Taking a train to a Disney vacation seems like it could be fun.
