Walt Disney World Preview — Week of February 17, 2018

Tickets, parking, and Minnie Van prices are on the rise. What else is new this week at Walt Disney World? Keep reading to find out!

Special Events

  • Walt Disney World ticket prices have increased. Check out Rikki’s post for a breakdown of the new pricing options.
  • Prices have also increased for both the Minnie Vans and parking at Walt Disney World. Minnie Vans will now be a flat fee of $25; regular parking is $22 and preferred parking is $45.
  • The Disney Princess Half Marathon presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals begins February 22 and runs (get it?) through February 25. Will you be participating? Let me know in the comments!
  • The Three Caballeros are now at Discovery Island Carnivale in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! You’ll find these avian musicians from February 4 through May 5.

    With Morning Extra Magic Hours at 7am when to you recommend arriving? When do the buses start to run? Thanks!

        It depends on whether you want to do the Pandora rides or not. If you’re planning to do the Pandora rides, the buses may not get you there in enough time to avoid a long wait. The buses generally start 45 minutes before park opening which means that you may not get to the park until 15-30 minutes before opening (worse if the bus line is long at your resort and you can’t get on the first bus). I have heard that people start lining up for Animal Kingdom an hour before park opening now and sometimes they start letting people in the gate before opening time. So short answer is if you plan on doing the rides in Pandora, arrive an hour before. Well worth it to take an Uber, drive yourself, or Minnie Van versus relying on the buses.
