#AskIt – Which Characters Would You Like To See Back At Disney?

Back in the day (WAY back in the day), the characters from Robin Hood would hang out in Town Square for photos. This was my thing. It was my tradition (pre-digital, sorry – there’s no hard evidence) to get a photo with Prince John. Then some time ago, he disappeared with Friar Tuck, Robin Hood, and the Sheriff of Nottingham. I have to admit I’m kind of sad about this (as sad as one can be at Walt Disney World anyway).

Some characters live on in hard ticket events (the Seven Dwarfs), and some are relegated to parade floats.

But some are in the Disney version of the Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Graveyard, gone forever except in our memories.

So today’s question is:

If you could resurrect a character or character family back into active meet and greets at Disney, who would it be?

  • Dreamfinder and Figment (31%, 160 Votes)
  • Robin Hood and friends (25%, 131 Votes)
  • Rabbits (Roger and Jessica) (9%, 48 Votes)
  • Bianca and Bernard (The Rescuers) (8%, 39 Votes)
  • Merlin (Sword in the Stone) (8%, 39 Votes)
  • Tarzan and Jane (6%, 29 Votes)
  • Three Little Pigs (6%, 29 Votes)
  • Duffy (5%, 24 Votes)
  • Other (mention in the comments) (3%, 16 Votes)
  • Clarice (0%, 1 Votes)

Total Voters: 516

If you chose ‘Other,’ mention it in the comments – I can’t wait to hear who you’re missing!

Voting is open now. There’s NO voting on Twitter this week due to Twitter’s 4 option limit to polls. See you next week with the results.

  • I voted for Robin Hood because I remember seeing him as a kid but not ever as an adult in say the past 15 years. We have seen Marie in Epcot a few years ago as well as Pinocchio in Magic Kingdom that same trip.

  • I’d bring back Donald’s nephews. With Ducktales now back on normal Disney Channel programing, I believe it’s a great opportunity them back.

  • Moana may not apply as a returning character but she certainly deserves to be at the World

  • Is Marie no longer meeting in Epcot’s France? Took pictures of my kids with her a couple of years ago.

  • We want Disney Villains to be regular!! Or Moana

  • I *adore* Dreamfinder, but never had the chance to meet him, though I still mourn for his delightful version of the ride. If they can keep selling all this merch with his likeness on it, doesn’t that tell the company there is a lot of passion for that incarnation of the ride? Ultimately, I picked Duffy, because he was my very favourite character to meet when I started going back to Disney as an adult. What the western parks have against adorable teddy bears in sailor costumes, I’ll never know.

  • We just went on April 3, 2018 and COULD NOT find Minnie in her red polka dot dress? What’s up with that?

    • She’s at character spot in Epcot in her polka dots!

  • I bet Disney will resurrect Merlin when (if, of course I mean if) Universal’s new park debuts with a Gandalf meet ‘n’ greet…

    • If you mean Darkwing Duck, I’m right there with you!

I’ve never cared about getting my pictures taken with the characters, but hearing Launchpad is out in Animal Kingdom means I may have to stand in a line.

  • I had to pick figment because I love figment, but my next choice would have been Merlin. My kids would love that, and it’d go great with the Sorceror’s game at MK. If I could have voted for 3 I also would have picked Duffy too. They still play the bedtime story in the resorts, it would be fun to have him back also.

  • All of the princes with their princesses.

  • While I’d love to see Roger and Jessica Rabbit in the Studios again, it would require Spielberg and Disney to patch up their differences, which I doubt will happen anytime soon.
