#AskIt – How Much Are You On Your Phone On Vacation?

Remember when vacation time was about unwinding and letting go? Now it feels like people spend as much time documenting their trips as enjoying them. And even if you’re not sharing and liking while you’re walking down the middle of Main Street, USA, Disney has made the mobile experience essential to getting things done on your trip because now your phone is where your FastPass+ and even your room key live.

Do you find yourself checking your email (if you’re an Old like I am) and everything else on your phone because you already have it out? Are you able to disconnect on your trip? Do you purposely cruise Disney because the internet is so bad that you are forced to go offline? (Again, that may just be me…?)

Today we’re asking:

How much time do you spend on your phone on vacation?

  • Less than at home (73%, 151 Votes)
  • The same as at home (20%, 42 Votes)
  • More than at home (7%, 15 Votes)

Total Voters: 208

Last week we asked if you’re going to the Food and Wine Festival — many of you still look forward to it. And even if you’re not making a special trip for it, you are happy to visit during your fall trip. Looking for our recommendations? Read our review before heading out.

On Labor Day, we had a flash poll about your dream job at Disney. VIP tour guide took the most votes of our choices, but there were so many other great ideas in the comments. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for more flash polls!

  • We try to stay off our phones as much as possible to spend time together as a family. Plus Disney is much more fun than an phone screen. We do use for Fast Passes and checking our schedule and post photos to social media – but try to do that as little as possible as well.

  • I’m on it a lot less, and usually using the My Disney Experience or Universal app (and/or Lines). Social media might get checked in the evenings, and maybe email once/twice a day.
(By comparison, I usually handle email every couple of hours.)
