Welcome to the latest edition of The Magic, The Memories, and Merch! the longest running monthly look at the Disney Outlet Stores in Orlando. The summer may be officially over, but the Outlet Intern Julia Mascardo (when not playing games in an attraction queue) and myself had our own fun in the sun by covering the Outlets for you. Except instead of “in the sun” it was “in an extremely crowded discount store filled with people who have no concept of personal space.” Despite overcoming all obstacles, we found some neat items including the first discounted items  to arrive from Copper Creek, items from the 35th anniversary of EPCOT, and we even saw the lowest priced item EVER at the Outlets.

Enough jibber jabber! Ready to see what we we found? Alright, let’s go!

I think it is safe to say that the “Ufufy” line of stuffed dolls did not take off the way Disney was hoping it would. Recently I even purchased some from DisneyStore.com with the rare discount of “Buy One, Get TWO Free.” The name Ufufy is definitely an odd one (and that’s coming from someone who has more invested in Disney Tsum Tsums than his own 401k.) Each of these small plush also have a special scent. First up is the Cheshire Cat Ufufy, which I purchased. It’s scent was “tea cookies.”

A bunch of dwarfs were available. They each had an “apple blossom” scent.

This Duffy and Shellie May plush set were sold together. Originally $29.99, they were reduced to $12.99. I passed on this, but maybe I should have bought the pair to take some elaborately staged photos of them inside the parks.

I’m not sure I have ever bought an art print at the Outlets, but I was THIS CLOSE to purchasing this one and am now regretting passing it up. The artist is Michelle St. Laurent – who has done a ton of great pieces for Disney – and features a whole bunch of birds from Disney’s animated films hanging out near birdhouses themed like the Epcot World Showcase Pavilions. This is just super cool and I’m kicking myself now as I look at it again. Originally $50, now $19.99. I imagine it was released during the Festival of the Arts.

This is both sides of Mickey and Minnie-themed plastic cup. Originally $9.99, now $2.99.

Coffee Cup from the Germany Pavilion in World Showcase. Originally $13.99, now $3.99 (which is an odd price that you rarely see for coffee cups at the Outlets. They are almost always marked down to $5.99.)

Coffee cup themed to “Mickey’s Longboard Surf Team” with the handle being a surfboard. Originally $19.99, now $5.99.

This cup features Dory showing “How To Speak Whale.” Originally $12.95, now $5.99.

EPCOT 35 wine glasses. Anyone who fell in love with the original Epcot is probably going to need a glass of wine or two when realizing what the high concept park is transforming into. All Hail Our New IP Overlords! Originally $15.99, now $4.99 each.

EPCOT 35 shot glasses. Originally $9.99, now $2.99. Surprising to see this sign because it almost always advertises them as “toothpick holders.”

I picked up this cute postcard featuring Pocahontas and Meeko. Originally $4.99, now $1.99.

This is an “interesting” postcard shaped like Mickey running. Can only imagine how many of them get damaged when mailing to someone. This was reduced down to just 19 cents, which just may be the lowest price of anything I have ever seen in the store.

Many reading this know the harrowing details of the time when I tried to put together a Metal Earth kit. Recently there have some neat designs, and earlier this year they even came out with some really great looking color ones, such as this awesome kit for the Walt Disney World Entrance Sign. However at the same time they also released this spectacularly ugly Minnie Mouse one that I’m surprised took so long to find its way to the Outlets. Originally $16.99, now $7.99.

I actually did pick up this Metal Earth kit featuring Pilot Droid Rex from the original version of Star Tours. It was reduced to just $3.99 and I’ll have the Metal Earth Expert Captain Cruiseline put it together for me.

Anyone who has gone to the Outlets in the last two months knows that both locations are just completely overrun with bubble blowers, especially the Tie Fighter version. Another Star Wars one “rolled in” this month with a BB-8 bubble blower. Reduced to $3.99.

This is either a super bizarre Ewok backpack, or an even weirder Ewok plush that you carry on your back like Luke carried Yoda on Dagobah. Originally $64.95, now just $29.99.

Ultra high end Star Wars action figure featuring the Elite Praetorian Guard. While they look like regular action figures, they are actually made of metal. Originally $29.99, now $12.99.

The following Star Wars pins were all originally $17.99, reduced to $6.99. There were seemingly hundreds of each one available. First up is Poe Dameron’s X-Wing Fighter (which I’m not sure how it is different from any other X-Wing Fighter) and the Starspeeder 1000 from Star Tours.

“The Ghost” is apparently a ship seen in the Star Wars Rebels cartoon series.

Haunted Mansion jigsaw puzzle featuring one of the most well known pieces of Disney attraction art ever made. Originally $19.99, now $12.99.

Cute tool box themed to Mickey and the Roadster Racers. Originally $21.99, now $12.99.

This is one next level bonkers looking mini tea seat. Also one that apparently you can’t actually use for tea. The tea kettle made out of clouds is almost mesmerizing. Originally $55, now $24.99.

Gus-Gus change purse for Cinderella fans. Disney seems to be making a lot of these character purses/bags, so we’ll probably be seeing more at the Outlets in the coming months. I feel like it’s way too expensive for a kid to have, but too impractical for an adult to use. Still looks cool though. To paraphrase our President, “from the standpoint of art.” Originally $68, now $34.99.

This Oswald bag actually came over from the Shanghai Disneyland Resort. Reduced to $7.99.

Some items are always weird to see, like this Disney branded set of wash cloths. Originally $14.99, now $4.99.

Some MagicBandits featuring characters from Up and Frozen. Each was reduced to $1.99. I do love that grape soda bottle cap one.

Looking for a keychain featuring a STEAMPUNK VERSION OF STITCH? Well, we got you covered there.

Here we have a set of pins themed to the Hollywood Tower of Terror Tsum Tsum set. Originally $29.99, now $14.99.

This is not a bad looking Grand Floridian pin at all. Reduced to $3.99.

A pin looking like a piece of luggage with stuff all over it. Whatever floats your boat I guess. Reduced to $5.99.

Twitter user @DreamfinderGuy spotted some EPCOT 35 pins during his trip to the Outlets. They were reduced down to $6.99 each. First up is one of my favorites from Ye Olde EPCOT, a segment from Kitchen Kabaret from The Land Pavilion.

And here is one from The Living Seas Pavilion featuring Sea Base Alpha (which can be seen in an episode of Hulk Hogan’s Thunder in Paradise TV show.)

Some Tinker Bell jewelry that comes in a cute case. Reduced to $3.99.

Always find it strange when Nightmare Before Christmas stuff comes to the Outlets in September and October. This seems to be an ideal time to unload this particular merchandise in the parks and hotels. How about having some Magical Moments at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and just give some of them away to people who spent two hours in line to meet Jack & Sally? Anyway, this Jack Skellington necklace was reduced to $8.99.

Haunted Mansion themed necklace. Originally $29.95, now $8.99.

Speaking of Haunted Mansion, this may be the oddest hat ever made for that attraction. It had a LARGE logo for the attraction that wasn’t centered but instead put on the left side of the hat. The logo was made out of plastic or something. The brim was extremely solid, unlike almost all the other hats that are easy to bend. It’s like it was a Haunted Mansion hat made for that character in Meet the Millers who had the “No Ragrets” tattoo on his neck. Hat itself was reduced to $4.99.

The logo is then printed all classy-like on the back and there’s a plastic cover for the adjustment strap? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?! Am I on crazy pills?!

Disney generic hat. Originally $24.99, marked down to the odd price of $5.75. I’m going to go undercover at the Outlets one day and try to crack the code of why things are priced the way they are.

If you stare at this hat for a while you’ll see some drawings for attractions like Jungle Cruise, the Skyway, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Still ugly as can be though. I hate to say it kinda looks like Burgan Fine Art. Originally $24.99, now $4.99.

This was a cute mermaid hat. Originally $24.99, now $4.99.

I don’t have the strength.

DVC Member hat. Was marked $24.99 and I couldn’t find a discounted price.

The DVC hat was also the only item I saw in the store with a security tag as well, which makes zero sense.

Figment hat. Originally $24.99, now $4.99.

Pirate themed mouse ears. Originally $17.95, now $3.99.

Ok, now this I bought. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit ears. Been waiting a LONG time for these. Reduced to $3.99. JACKPOT.

I really liked the design of this bucket cap featuring Disney princess castles or other places of princess residency. Originally $21.99, now $7.99.

Let’s head into some shirts, including this CRAZY Mickey Mouse one. Originally $24.99, now $9.99.

I actually bought this one as I love that late 80s/early 90s style. Originally $24.99, now $9.99.

Considered this Jungle Cruise shirt. Looks sharp. Originally $24.99, now $9.99.

I also broke down and bought this Rescue Rangers shirt. I can’t remember the time I bought two shirts in the same Outlet trip. This may possibly have been the first time ever. Originally $32.99, now $9.99.

This DHS shirt for kids is fantastic. Originally $24.99, now $9.99.

Some more offerings for the younger set. The Stitch onesie was originally $21.99 with a HUGE discount down to $19.99, while the overalls were originally $34.99, marked down to $12.99.

This may literally how Bob Iger and Bob Chapek see the map of Florida. Originally $24.99, now $9.99.

Some shirts for Rock ‘n Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith. Both were originally $24.95, now $9.99.

This Rock n’ Roller Coaster one features Mickey Mouse in a manner that seems off model IMHO. Originally $24.95, now $9.99.

Don’t see many shirts for the tea cups. Originally $34.99, now $9.99.

We do however see a lot of shirts for Pandora: The World of Avatar. This one featuring the fictional Mountain Banshee Project was originally $34.99, now $9.99.

This is certainly the first ever item from Copper Creek to hit the Outlets. Originally $34.99, now $12.99.

His and Her Nightmare Before Christmas shirts. Both originally $24.99, now $9.99.

Love the Haunted Mansion, but not a fan of this shirt. May need to consult an expert like Thrillgeek‘s own Clint Gamache –  DisTwitter’s #1 Haunted Mansion fanboy – to get his opinion on the design. Originally $24.99, now $9.99.

Nice looking Disney Cruise Line outfit. Originally $34.99, now $10.99.

The following shirt needs to be seen to be believed. Its from the 28 & Main line of clothing, which has sent I think 90% of its items to the Outlets. The shirt itself is based around LeFOU’S BREW. Whatever the amazing moment was when chocolate met peanut butter, this would be the complete opposite. Originally $37, it was marked down to $12.99. But we have to take a closer look at this…

Large Gaston’s Tavern logo.

The shirt has several buttons, and if you look inside the shirt you’ll see blue animal logo stitched in.

This exact same animal is stitched in the same spot ON THE BACK OF THE SHIRT AS WELL. This is crazy.

The stitching makes it look like it is always inside-out. The more I think about it, the more this is a PERFECT shirt for LeFou’s Brew.

Bought this Minnie Mouse bib for the baby in our family born earlier this year. Originally $14.99, now $4.99.

Disney scarfs. Or is is scarves? “I’ll take Things Classy People Put Around Their Neck for $400 Alex.” Originally $21.99, now $4.99.

I feel like Disney and many other companies went ALL IN on themed socks for adults over the last year or so. Not sure how well that worked out. I mean these socks were originally $14.99, which seems insane to a working man like myself. I still couldn’t bite for $4.99 even though I was just about to on that Jungle Cruise pair.

The Cars-themed socks were for kids. Originally $9.99, reduced to $2.99. The Alice in Wonderland pair were brought down to $4.99.

Every year I buy Disney Christmas Card sets at the Outlet forgetting that we still have about a THOUSAND extra cards from previous years that come down with our Christmas decorations in November. Despite this set being so wonderful, I somehow summoned the courage not to buy it. Originally $19.99, now $7.99.

More EMOJI Christmas ornaments. All were $4.99.

This Sally Christmas ornament was originally $29.99 and brought all the way down to $5.99. Maybe it was too creepy for Nightmare Before Christmas superfans, and can you imagine what that is saying?

Those super weird Disney Racers from Shanghai have their own Christmas ornaments. Remember these are Disney characters mashed up with Hot Wheels cars. First up is Star Wars’ own BB-8. This was reduced to $4.99.

I don’t even like these Disney Racers things, but how lazy is this R2-D2 version?

Stitch and Woody versions.

Not exactly sure what era of Mickey and Minnie this figurine set is supposed to represent, but it looks to be from a time when my Grandmother was still in grade school.

And let’s close out with another one of those super weird princess gimmicks where the body of the princess is a diorama of the film she was in. Here’s Belle.

There are actually two Disney outlet stores in Orlando. Both are in Orlando Premium Outlet shopping complexes, and they are called Disney’s Character Warehouse, presumably because The Land Of Misfit Toys was already trademarked. There is one Character Warehouse located on International Drive close to Universal Studios (4951 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819), and the other is on Vineland Avenue, right across I-4 near the exits to Disney World (8200 Vineland Ave, Orlando, FL 32821). They do not ship. There are items at the Outlets that you can buy both in Disney stores along with the Shop Disney Parks app, but you will be paying full retail for the items.

I often get asked “which store is better?” That depends. Vineland is close to Walt Disney World, while the I-Drive location is a hop, skip, and jump away from the Universal Orlando Resort. The Vineland Disney Outlet Store is much, MUCH bigger than the I-Drive location. However, the Vineland outlets in general are much, MUCH busier than I-Drive. Each have their pros and cons, and ultimately they carry much of the same items.
