Ports of Call

Disney Cruise Line: In The News

Calling all stage talent! Another casting call is out – are you the next Prince Charming or Flynn Ryder? Auditions are happening in New York City!

Here’s this week’s special offers. Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel.  There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book.  These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:

Captain’s Log: Important Tips and Information

We are sailing head-on into the Very Merrytime cruise season, and that means it’s time for the traditional gingerbread houses to make their return! Each year, the amazing chefs on board the ship create a life-sized masterpiece that is on display in the atrium. For the past 5 years, the chefs have engaged in a friendly competition, and we the people of the internet are asked to pick the best gingerbread house of the bunch of the year. You can click here to see the gorgeous work currently on display for this year, and then vote for your favorite! Voting is only open until Sunday, so don’t miss out!

Last year’s winner was this beauty on the Disney Wonder. Will she reign supreme again this year? We will find out next week!

While these works of are are quite a feast for the eyes and the nose, they aren’t for the mouth! Luckily, there’s a solution for that. In the past, DCL has offered a gingerbread house decorating activity – and this house was one you could take back to your stateroom to snack on during your cruise. This year, it appears that this activity has been modified to a gingerbread cookie decorating session. Still no charge, no tickets required, still delicious!

So, which ship’s gingerbread house is earning your vote this year?

Special thanks to Scott Sanders of The DCL Blog for assistance on this article – especially for the gorgeous featured photo this week!

Thanks for joining me again this week. “Sea” you next time!
