Introducing Planning Basics: A New Video Series

The end of the year is when many people plan their Disney World vacation, so we have decided to begin a new series of videos on the TouringPlans YouTube page to help those who could use a little guidance in the planning process.

Over the next two weeks we will be posting five videos all about planning, the first focusing on deciding when to go, something that can help plan vacations to Disneyland, Universal Orlando, or Walt Disney World.

The rest of the series will be:

  • Friday, December 28: How Long to Go to Disney World
  • Wednesday, January 2: Choosing a Disney World Hotel
  • Friday, January 4: Disney World Tickets
  • Monday, January 7: FastPass+

Within a few of these will be discussions on money and budget, but please let us know in the comments if there are any other planning videos you would like to see added to this series. Thank you for watching!

  • The best dining plan advice: Don’t buy it from Disney. Buy Disney gift cards from your local Target or Sam’s club, etc (often they cost less than they are worth) and use those for your dining. According to the touringplans.com dining calculator, my family of 7 will spend almost $5,000 on food for our 9 day, 8 night trip in June. We’ve been planning this for a year, so we’ve purchased a $100 gift card every week (sometimes more than one when they’re on sale) and in the long run, we will save money buying food out of pocket instead of doing a dining plan.

  • Hello, I would like to thank touring plan for making my recent trip to Disney world great! We went from Dec 20th to Dec 26th and it was very busy. Since I was using touring plan and all the tips from Brian, we didn’t have to wait for any ride for more than 15 min. Most of them were walk on. I was skeptical initially, but our touring plan worked more than perfect. We did rope drop, EMHs and made fast passes for the rides and times as suggested. This was our first trip and I can’t thank enough. I will use touring plans for all my future trips! Thank you so much!

  • I’d love one on the dining plan! All of the ones I’ve found recently are out of date or from people who are trying to sell me a vacation.
