Details About Disney’s Riviera Resort

Earlier today, it was announced that reservations are now available for Disney’s Riviera Resort, however now, we have a few more details about what Guests will be able to expect when they walk into the doors of this new resort that has the goal of celebrating the grandeur of Europe.

Guests will arrive and see a palm tree-lined boulevard and will be welcomed with grand archways and porticos to the tower and terraces. In the main lobby, Guests will find a mix of modern and classic 20th-Century furnishings, as well as unique art celebrating beloved Disney Characters and icons. Outside, Guests will find beautiful gardens, bubbling fountains, lush landscaping and a serene waterfront.

There will be a number of dining establishments at Disney’s Riviera Resort that range from quick service, to table service.

For table service, Guests can stop at Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. (Topolino means Mickey Mouse, for those who don’t know.) The restaurant will be found on the rooftop of the resort is will feature regional delights at this signature dining experience. Inside, Guests can watch as their meal is prepared at the exclusive expo kitchen or wood burning grill. Guests will be able to pair their meal with a glass of wine from an impressive collection of wines sourced from the Mediterranean coast. Throughout the restaurant, a stunning visual aesthetic is created through modern interpretations of textures, colors, carved details, and stonework found in ancient villages along the Riviera. In the mornings, Topolino’s Terrace will also include a prix-fixe character breakfast.

Moving to quick service options, enjoy Primo Piatto. This will be a trattoria that serves up tasty cuisine and grab and go items. Next there’s the Le Petit Cafe, which will be found in the lobby and will be a great spot for a cup of coffee or latte. In the evening, the location transforms to a wine bar. Finally, there will be the Bar Riva, which will be a poolside bar that serves European and Mediterranean fare.

As far as accommodations go, Disney’s Riviera Resort, the deluxe Disney Vacation Club resort is slated to offer approximately 300 family-friendly vacation homes include Deluxe Studios, 1-Bedroom Villas, 2-Bedroom Villas, 3-Bedroom Grand Villas, and new for DVC, Tower Studios. The Tower Studios will be unique to Disney’s Riviera Resort and will accommodate up to 2 Guests. Tower Studios will feature a kitchenette, drawers and a cleverly hidden pull-down queen-size bed that just as easily tucks away to reveal a comfortable lounge-worthy space.

Of course, there will be a couple of pools for Guests to enjoy. The Riviera Pool will be the family opton with a picturesque pool that will even have a own pool slide that winds around a stately column tower. There will also be the S’il Vous Play, an interactive water play area for kids that’s inspired by the grand European public fountains and will feature a ballet of friendly Fantasia characters. For those looking for a bit more relaxation, consider visiting the quieter Beau Soleil Pool.

Disney’s Riviera Resort will feature plenty of other recreation options, including the Voyageurs’ Lounge. This will be a quiet study that will feature décor inspired by a collection of book titles that Walt Disney gathered during his travels to Europe and other far-off places. Outside on the activity lawn, there will be a chess lawn and bocce ball court, as well as a fire pit. Guests looking to get their fitness on can do so at the Athlétique Fitness Center. There will also be a walking/jogging path for Guests to utilize.

Of course, one of the big draws of this new Disney Vacation Club property is that will will include the Disney Skyliner gondola system. Guests will be able to easily visit Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Riviera Resort will be the first all-new, stand-alone Disney Vacation Club property at Walt Disney World since 2004. While reservations are now available for December 2019, the official grand opening date of the resort will be announced at a later date.
