El Mariachi Coco de Santa Cecilia Now Performing at Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion

Have you had the chance to see Coco yet? Well, to tie the film into its Mexican heritage, the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot has introduced a new musical act for a limited time.

El Mariachi Coco de Santa Cecilia is a musical act that was inspired by the film and they will be entertaining Guests through January 6. The group gets their name courtesy of  the town of Santa Cecilia, which is featured in Coco.  El Mariachi Coco de Santa Cecilia will perform songs from the movie including “Remember Me” and “The World Es Mi Familia.”

In addition, a new interactive exhibit and festive dioramas that showcase scenes from the film will be added to the Mexico Folk Art Gallery. Currently the gallery features an exhibit called Remember Me.

Coco is now in theaters.

Sneak Preview of Pixar’s “Coco” Coming to Disney Parks

Are you anxious for the upcoming Pixar film Coco? Well, soon, you’ll be able to catch a sneak preview of the movie at both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort.

Starting at Walt Disney World, the preview will be taking place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios inside the theater in the new Walt Disney Presents. (Formerly One Man’s Dream.) In addition to the special sneak peek, Guests will also be able to view character sculptures and artwork from the production that will be on display.

Moving over to the Disneyland Resort, Guests at Disney California Adventure will get to see this advance look at scenes from Coco in 3D with special in-theater effects at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land. In addition, Guests should also make sure to check out the Plaza de la Familia, an all-new festivity at Paradise Gardens that celebrates the film too which takes place from September 15 – November 2.

These special sneak previews are set to begin November 3. Coco hits theaters on November 22.

Disney California Adventure to Host Plaza de la Familia, A Celebration of “Coco”

Are you excited about the upcoming Pixar film, Coco? The film, for those who don’t know, revolves around a young boy named Miguel goes on a journey through the Land of the Dead. To tie into the film, Disney California Adventure will feature the Plaza de la Familia, which is a new event that will take place at Paradise Gardens. Plaza de la Familia is inspired by the beautiful tradition of Día de los Muertos that celebrates loved ones who have passed and honors the familial bonds that last forever.

One of the highlights of Plaza de la Familia will be “A Musical Celebration of Coco.”  This experience will feature a group of storytellers, as well as original songs from the movie. The host Mateo, will be joined by an ensemble of Folklórico dancers and Mariachi Divas who will bring three of the film’s enchanting songs to life. Performances will take place daily.

Guests will also be able to enjoy authentic Mariachi music on the Paradise Gardens Bandstand. There will also be The World of Coco exhibit and a Tree of Life interactive photo location. Oh and of course, there will be food, with an all new, delicious menu of Mexican foods available.

You can experience Plaza de la Familia, A Celebration of Coco from September 15 – November 2. Coco hits theaters on November 22.
